wierdmunky
I always feel like there's something wrong with me, I'll daydream a lot, have some motivation, but feel like others have more than me, and gets me depressed that I can't measure up. I liked the advice I read somewhere where it said you have to look at things that happen in your life as something normal to help your thinking. When do you draw the line of normal? I have a hard time drawing that like in my own life without people telling me what that is for me.
Ronni_W
I always feel like there's something wrong with me, I'll daydream a lot, I read something that really struck me: our negative self-image is just a definition...and WE came up with that definition ourselves...and then we allow our distorted/inaccurate, self-created, self-definition to limit us and cause us to feel crappy & unhappy. So...it's the definition that is holding us hostage, and it is OUR OWN (self-critical) definition of our Self! Crap...I'm not explaining it very well, I don't think . The book is 'Secrets You Keep From Yourself: How to Stop Sabotaging Your Happiness' by Dan Neuharth. I just started reading it, but it does talk about using daydreams as a way to undermine one's self. The book's on sale for U$5 at bookcloseouts.com -- or the library may have it. It's tough cos we've been 'building' our negative self-image since almost "Day 1" -- but it is possible to revise and update our definition into something much more accurate, positive, hopeful and inspiring. Wishing you good luck.
