Financial problems can break a marriage ?

I am having some financial problems as the business I am doing is not going well. Recently I have borrowed some money from my inlaw's family (my wife's side). Until now I have not settle the money yet as I am still running short. Because of this, I can feel a kind of strain in my relationship with my wife. We did not quarrel but I know that its something to do with my borrowing. Every night we just retired to bed just like this. There's no more of the sparks in our husband-wife relationship. Everything seems to die down like this. I really wonder if financial problems can really wreck a marriage? I thought marriages are built upon the love for each other.
