Raderick
I am quite curious. Did you have to meet at some point to establish the relationship, or did it all online before meeting in person?
sunflower89
I met mine SO on a BDSM website last August. We meet properly in September and if all goes well he moves here this time next year (after a few more visits!).
Rollercoasterr
The first time around with my fiance and I, I don't think that we ever established that we were together. It just sort of flourished. The second time around, however, it was established because we confessed that we still had feelings for each other, and that we wanted to be back together. And so it was. Best thing that ever happened to me.
KikiW
We admitted our feelings to each other a couple of months before we met each other in person. My situation was very odd, and it took a bit of time to work out what was happening. By the time we got to admitting how we felt about each other, it was pretty obvious we were "together." SophieA
We were together for 5 years "closed distance" before he left for med school. It's been 2 and 1/2 months LDR.
Computer Chip
I haven't met my girl yet as we are still getting to know each other but I cannot wait.
Els
We were talking everyday and knew of our feelings for each other before we met. However, the bond became so very much stronger the first time we spent the night together. That was what 'sealed the deal' for me, bringing me out of the 'we'll take it slow and enjoy what we have, whatever that may be' phase. During those weeks together, the same thing happened for him as well although I'm not exactly sure when.
Rollercoasterr
Elswyth has a point here. I knew I loved Mathew more than words could say. But the very first time I saw his face and spent the night in his arms I just KNEW that this was forever and that there was no going back. Within the first 30 seconds of being around him I was already positive that he was the man I was going to marry.
Maggs
I was living in the UK on a holiday visa for a couple of yrs. His brother is married to a good friend of mine from Canada who moved to Scotland with her hubby. We were friends because I always used to hang out with his family and my friend. We were together for nearly a year when my visa expired and I had to come back to Canada.

jlaa29
Me and my partner met on my first night out when I was studying abroad in Australia. I'm here studying in Aus. for a second time right now but I'm leaving in a month - the day before our 2 year anniversary Then it's back to being 10,000+ miles apart (I live in the U.S.)
Lyssa
Spent weeks together after almost one year of getting to know each other. It was amazing!
imetmysoulmate4life
I met my baby through an online game, we talked and talked on skype and i realised how much i was falling for him and i could not keep my feelings in any longer and told him i was in love with him and he told me the same. This love is something i have never felt before in my life. When we finally met after 8 months just online i fell in love with him even more and it confirmed what we already knew that we were meant to be forever after 14 months of being with him still LD i find myself loving him more and more each day which seems impossible as i love him so much words cannot explain. Author Raderick
Thanks for your responses! Now, onto my situation. I really like this person I've been talking to a few hundred miles away, so I'm trying to figure out how to even mention the fact that meeting and a LDR could be possible? We've playfully talked about me moving to her location when we first talked (emphasis on the word "playfully", meaning not serious at all at the time) and we seem to get along really well. I'm slowly trying to convince her to get on her webcam (I even helped her buy her laptop) and for me it's really hard to gauge her interest. I seriously would like to go up there towards the end of the month or for the 4th of July, and it just seems so weird of me to make such a travel just for her. Advice? oasis_02
Doesn't seem weird to me, just ask her what she thinks about ever meeting, and go from there. I am curious though why she is hesitant about going on webcam, maybe she would seem too nervous about meeting in person..? Btw, I met my SO on an online game a few years back =P
