KikiW Posted June 3, 2009 Share Posted June 3, 2009 Just have to share, I am so excited Now that we are hitting the summer, we thought now would be a good time for my honey to start looking around the job market and see what's available. He's worked for the same company since he graduated high school, has almost 20 years of experience, so was very nervous about trying to find something new. Monday night we were scanning the Help Wanteds and found a company about 20 minutes from me that was advertising for almost EXACTLY what he's doing now (although I think it's technically a step-down, he's used to doing the job AND overseeing the rest of the crew, and this is just the job). He called yesterday and the lady was out, so he called again this morning. The woman said they got quite a few responses, and they have already narrowed down the list to two people, who have been interviewed already. He told her that was ok, he was probably a few months away from making the move up, but he was really interested in the position and at least wanted to ask more about it. They got to talking about his credentials and experience, and she said "You know what, I'd really like you to send me your resume... I think we might be able to find something for you." :bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny: Sorry, I r HAPPEH BUNNEH! Since he will be up here the week around July 4th, she also wants to set up a time to meet with him :D:D:D:D I am trying not to get TOO excited. But I think it's because this is the first step forward we've had in a while. I am still in the house with my STBex, 10 months after we officially separated (for those who need a crib sheet, the short story is we are VERY amicable and supportive of each other, we just didn't fulfill each other as a married couple). It doesn't make financial sense for me to move out right now, although I wish I could just so I can get myself settled and let my daughter become comfortable with the new arrangements. My honey is still going through his own divorce and it is very slow going because his STBex is intentionally dragging her feet (court date is set for the end of July though). We both have felt like we have been in a holding pattern for a while and it's driving us nutty. My honey will be coming up, it's just a matter of timing at this point. And this contact he made today really just helped solidify it in my head that he's really going to do it. Intellectually I know he means what he says, but I still haven't completely shaken that little voice in my head that says "prepare for him not coming, he might not mean it, he might let you down, maybe he doesn't love you like he claims he does." Stupid llittle voice So every time these little things happen, I can tell that voice where to go and how to get there! I can't wait to see him again... less than a month now. All of these things are such a HUGE step in the right direction and just the fact that he called and spent so much time talking to this woman shows TREMENDOUS effort on his part. He just spoke with his STBex and she told him the court date was moved up to the 16th of this month - about a month and a half earlier than the other date (was set for the end of July). He's a bit wigged because he was supposed to see his attorney this morning, but the attorney messed up and didn't remember the appointment. Now he's trying to reach the attorney to find out if the date move is correct because he didn't know anything about it and he HATES not knowing what's going on. His STBex is getting worried that he will seek custody of their daughter (which I support if that's what he wants). He is still weighing his options. He would not consider it except that the last weekend she had responsibility of their daughter, she dropped her at a friend's house and went to the bar all weekend. If nothing else he's trying to make her sweat just so she will be more reasonable... They had worked out an agreement, then she turned around and demanded that he pay for their house, pay for her car, pay her more than the max in child support, pay her alimony, AND give her 100% of his retirement. WHA? She's effin nuts. She has 2 jobs, and her sister is living in the house with her and paying rent to her (not to HIM, who is still paying on it, she is giving the money to HER). I can't imagine any judge awarding such a deal to her. So if this new court date is correct, he may have that all squared away within the next 2 weeks - a HUGE worry off his shoulders.
