Am I too old?

I'm going to be 39 in January. I'm just wondering if there are any other gals out there who aren't real, real young who wear fancy lingerie or girlish nighties? I have a couple of sexy "costumes" that are youthful that I have seldom worn, but hope I'm not getting too old for in case the occasion arises. I look at least 10 years younger than my actual age, and I have a decent-looking, slim body. But I know inside how old I really am, and I just wonder how much longer I can or should try to wear certain things.

I have a new guy in my life, going on a few months now, who is 5 years younger than me. People think he is dating someone much younger than he is. That makes me feel great, but nonetheless, sometimes I feel self-conscious about wearing things or behaving like I did when I was 10 years younger. I don't want to resign myself to looking matronly, but I also know I'm not 21 anymore either...

I'm probably just going through a type of mid-life crisis. Any thoughts on this? Is it okay?

You're as old as you think and feel. You certainly aren't too old for anything...unless you think you are. You also make the mistake that other people care just what you wear. As long as it's fine with your guy, that's all that matters.

Here - send along a photo at mXXXXX_XXXX.com and I'll give you my opinion!! :D

Just had to interject a little levity - you are never too old to feel sexy and share the feeling with soemone you love - in fact, if more people did it the break-up rat would probably decrease sustantially!

I say have fun and try it out! If he doesn't appreciate you for the effort find someone who does! :p

You Go Girl!

This has been a pretty rough year for me. I just turned 40 and got sepated from my husband all within a few weeks. I spent most of my life not feeling good about myself and not feeling attractive. I don't know if it is a midlife thing but I suddenly feel alive and sexy. I too wear things that I worry may not be appropriate for someone my age. Even though I feel young and have even been approached by a 24 year old (!) I don't want to feel like someone trying too hard to recapture my youth.

But then the new me feels...... why not have fun and dress how you feel. Chances are the people who would judge are probably a little jealous that they don't or can't wear those things.

Have fun and more power to you!

It is the last stop before the desert----have fun and go for it!@ Just be careful.

I too can relate to you. I am dating a guy 6 years younger and they think I am younger than he is.

Have fun! And wear what you want to wear.

I'm 31 and I am happiest, and feel sexiest, in patterned cotton panties and cotton nightgowns. My guy, on the other hand, consistently would prefer to see lingerie- I just cannot bring myself to...maybe I feel too old?

In any case, I don't think any man would complain- in fact, I'm sure all would rather see lingerie!

You are definately not too old. But you should wear what makes you feel happy with. Wouldn't be a bad idea to buy a few pieces of lingerie and surprise your man once in a while.

I think we women are more self conscious about our bodies than we need to be. The media tells us that model figures are what guys are looking for. In my limited experience, I didn't find that to be the case at all.

If you feel sexy, that confindence definately shows.
