tuscansun
So I met this guy on a Christian dating site a couple months back. To make this post as short as possible, I'll just say its been pretty incredible, well as incredible as it can be having not yet met him in person as he lives in New York and I live in California. He's a musician at his church and Im a musician at my dad's church so Its cool to have things in common. My last relationship ended really badly a couple years ago and I have just recently become interested in dating again, honestly largely due to this new guy. we both have our faults most definitely but we get along so well and tho Im a bit sassy, I have to admit he keeps me on my toes as far as wit goes...I had given up.... During me lame rebound stage about a year ago I met a few guys online, nothing panned out because, well, I was rebounding and being stupid...But this is very different...He's flying out to Vegas for a week for some kind of conference which is only 5 hours driving from me, so my friends and I are going to do a type of combination girls weekend/meet my dude type thing so I don't have to go alone. Both of us are really excited, I'm SO nervous though. Thanks to technology we've webcammed and we have all kinds of pictures and so physically I don't think there will be too many surprises but I still feel so Nervous! There's such a stigma with internet dating being so lame, I'm embarassed to tell people about it. I'm not unfortunate looking at all and neither is he so I can just imagine people saying, soooo, WHY did you meet a guy online...... Could this really be something? If things go well he's even talking about going to Grad school at this really good school about an hour from where I live. It just gets more and more real everyday.....Could this actually work out? Thornton
I don't see why it couldn't work out I met my bf online and there's nothing lame about it - he's attractive and so am I, we could have met people in real life, but it's a lot easier to meet someone you have something in common with online. Good luck for your meeting with this guy!

Good luck for your meeting with this guy! Yes same for me. I met my boyfriend on line. We are perfect for each other its actually scary how good we are together. This could work out for you. I know many people put on line dating down but it does work for some. My boyfriend was the first one I met and it just clicked. Good Luck!!
carvidep
That sounds like a great set up!! It's awesome that you'll be able to meet so soon after "meeting" online. Then you can find out if that real life chemistry exists without wondering for months and months on end haha. I've been online friends with my guy for 3 years now, met him once while still in the "just friends" stage. I brought one of my study abroad friends with me in case he wasn't who he said he was. She even had a sword! (from Toledo, Spain, for her brother) But he ended up being cool. It's nice that you'll both have a group of friends with you, which should make it even more fun! ...And safe. I hope he turns out to be the wonderful guy you know now! I don't think you have anything to worry about though after all of that web-camming and photo sharing.
Author tuscansun
Thank you guys for the support. Yeah I'm really excited but also very nervous. Things already feel so 'relationshipy'....which is why I think im all edgy. i mean obviously nothing can be truly official until we meet, but little things get me jumpy. For example he calls me baby, is he gonna call me that when we meet? we give kisses over the phone, is he gonna just naturally kiss me when I see him? It sounds so junior high but bear with me!! This seems like it will be more than a highschool type thing...
