Maggs
My fiancee and I are stumped over this one. He is going to be wearing a kilt and the 2 he's picked out really only match well with blue or green. Neither of us are a real fan of having a dark green, but unsure about blue myself. It's my favourite colour but is it going to be too dark for a June wedding. Any opinions or other ideas? The 2 kilts he's looking at is either the Scottish national tartan or something called Black Watch.
subdued
I don't know anything about kilts and weddings. Perhaps searching the Internet will help. Have you tried searching for google image results for scottish weddings?
Trialbyfire
Shouldn't he be wearing the tartan of his clan?
Author Maggs
Shouldn't he be wearing the tartan of his clan? No that's not the rule. A lot of people wear kilts who aren't even Scottish/Irish. We don't particularly like his family tartan so we're going with a more national one.
2sure
Children's Parties and Amusement Parks have themes. Do your future self a favor and try not to get too caught up in a theme for your wedding. I attended a large formal wedding last summer in which the males were part of some Highlander (?) group. They all wore kilts with jackets and the ladies in attendance wore a deep cream with some ribbon trim in a dark blue. The bride was in ultra white. It was stunning.
Thornton
You could have tartan bridesmaids! Might be a bit much though. I agree with 2sure, bridesmaids in white with dark blue trim would be nice, or even tartan sashes or something to match the kilt. Red would also go with the Scottish national tartan. Rollercoasterr
I think it depends on where you are getting married. If you`re getting married outside, why not let nature be your color scheme? It usually goes good with everything. However, for the bridesmaids I think that the cream and blue like 2sure said would be lovely. I`m going with pink and green, lol. We`re having it outside at the Kentucky Horse Park so we wanted colors that would go with the surroundings and then the one that would pop(pink). I think your wedding is going to be beautiful. Just don`t stress too much about it.
