SophieA
I thought it'd be fun to see what you all wear when you travel to see your s/o. I know he'll love me in whatever I'm wearing but I'm looking to buy a cute "track suit" or something that will be comfy and cute. I want to "wow" him when I get off that plane! So what do you all wear when travelling?
KikiW
I wear hiphugger flare jeans and a babydoll t-shirt, which is probably inappropriate for my age, but then I have been mistaken for 10 years younger so I will push the envelope as long as I can
Thornton
I'm another jeans and tshirt girl.
Author SophieA
Thanks for your replies ladies. I would go the jeans route but my flight leaves at 5 am (ew!) and it's a 7 hour flight (double ew!) including layovers... trying to find something really comfy but something that doesn't hide my body. (ie. slouchy sweatpants)
KikiW
You don't have comfy jeans? They are really all I wear. Anything else is something I exercise in, and I am not getting off the plane in sweatpants. hehe
Island Girl
Because it was 22 hours to get there I wore sweats until Fiji. There I bought some really cute island print capri pants and a linen top. I also found some really cute sandals that ended up being my wedding shoes! LOL I freshened up in the bathroom at the airport (a welcome distraction on the 4 hour lay over that turned into 8 hours) and put on make up, fixed my hair, etc. But I am one of those cases that is thousands and thousands of miles away. barbiedhol
My SO lives four hours away.. so normally i wear a nice top, jeans with heels or cute sandals. Something casual and cutee at the same time. Since you are traveling way early in the morning, I think it wud be cute if u wore a nice tracking suit. They are comfy, nice and perfect when traveling for more than 5+ hours. Rollercoasterr
If you have an Old Navy around where you live I found that the Flirt jeans are the most comfortable things I have ever worn. I have about a billion pairs of them and I swear they are so comfy I could sleep in them and not notice the difference. I wore jeans and a little black shirt. I found some cute flats at the mall the day I left so I wore those too. My first plane was horribly small so I was not about to be uncomfortable. And I`m glad I wasn`t. The guy that sat next to me DID smell like pickles, though. I wanted to get as far away from him as possible.
Lyssa
The first time, I wore jeans and white tight fitting, button down shirt. It was during winter so I had to prepare myself from the start. When I got off the plane, went straight to the ladies to freshen up - face and teeth! Then the driver dropped me off at the guest house and when I saw him... I shook his hand . You shook his hand?! :lmao: I wore jeans, a white vest top with a blue cardigan. When I saw him at the airport, he wore beige trousers, a bright orange t-shirt with a brown shirt over it which was un-buttoned. It was not hard to spot him because of the orange t-shirt. He came over to me, gave me a kiss and gave me a massive hug.
Lyssa
You shook his hand?! :lmao: Yeah I did... you should see the look on his face. He still teases me about that .
Eilonwy
Ha, I'm also wondering what I should wear. I want it to be something that looks good on me (obviously), as I want to look as good as possible when I arrive at the airport. But some of my prettier things are just not comfortable enough for a 14hour trip! Also, I don't want to wear the best things, as whatever I end up wearing will have to be washed after the trip, and I don't get a proper opportunity for at least a full week. So I sort of want to save them up! Complicated.... My SO also recently informed me that guys generally "hate" babydoll style shirts. So about 1/3 of my options died.
oasis_02
It takes 2 days to see him, first I took a 7 hour plane ride, and a 2 hour bus ride to cross the border. 2nd day was the long one, a 12 hour train ride. I wore my favorite shirt, my favorite jeans, and just a pair of black converse. And a week later he confessed he was so nervous he didn't even bother to care what I wore. So yeh, don't think too much since he's probably going to be too nervous to notice anyways ha.
Author SophieA
LOL that's cute. But I don't think my guy will be nervous. We were together in closed distance for 5+ years. But I really DO want to look really hot for him coming off the plane.
carvidep
I'm thinking jeans with a tank and my favorite hoodie, but I'll be leaving straight from work. I work in food service and get pretty gross by the end of my shift but I don't want to take any chances being late by showering at home first. So I'm seriously considering an "airport shower", like washing my hair in the sink etc. I don't want to look like a weirdo though haha. I think I just need motivation.
