Speaking of Muscle and Weight Training.....How much Weight(for Guys) is Good enough to just "Shape" the arms, With a little muscle added, Rather than just bulk up??? I've never understood how much weight is good for just Shaping the arms and how much should be done, You always hear about doing too much too soon, getting stretch marks, tearing muscles etc.

You can't "shape" any musculature of the body, arms included. Muscle shape is genetically determined.

Who wants to train JUST the arms?

That's such an insignificant amount of the body.

Boy am I stupid, I should just take my insignifacant arms and my insignificant SELF out of here.

Sorry I asked.

Hey man, I don't think Ryan meant anything rude by it. DOn't sweat the small stuff.

But anyways, (and Ryan, correct me if I'm wrong), you shouldn't train just your arms. THey'd end up getting so big and built up that the rest of your body would look goofy in comparison and also more stress would be put on the rest of the body from having to hold up all that weight.

Now as for toning your arms, I'm no expert by any means, but I've heard that more reps at a lighter weight will help tone them whereas fewer reps at a heavier weight will help make them bigger.

Dunno if that was any help to you or not. Good luck with all your goals.

Relax, junior. My arms are insignificant too. You're missing the point.

You must focus on training for fitness. Training for appearance is a superficial and ultimately flawed way at approaching physical improvements. Thus, it is irrational to focus on the musculature of the arms since that is such an....insignificant....amount of the body.

Incorrect, but commonly believed to be true. There is no such characteristic as "tone." Musculature in the arms can either grow or shrink. The "tone" people speak of is simply being lean. Training with minimal resistance for endless repetitions will not make noteworthy improvements in muscular size OR bodyfat levels.
