Friends flirting on chats

Recommended Posts

So today, the ex of a month and a half just texted to have a nice pleasant convo with me and see how I was doing. He seemed really happy, and nice to talk to. I'm still trying to get completley over him, as in see him as a friend only. And the guy I have started to have a tiny crush on ( X ) just posted up pictures of him and his new girlfriend. I don't know what happened. Anyways I'm not so sure if I feel right about talking to the guy with a gf seeing how I've developed this crush on him, is it a bad idea to talk to any of them? I knew ( X ) had a gf but we still talked as friends which was fine but he's moving along a tad flirty. I sure wouldn't like my bf fliritng with another girl, even if it was online chats, so I was wondering if I should draw the line now.

You've answered your own question. You said if you were that other girl you wouldn't like what is happening. So treat her as you would like to be treated yourself.

I understand the logic of wanting to be friends with a former but you need to get over him before you go back and rekindle the friendship part. It will be easier to get over him if you're not constantly reminded of the good times via friendly chat. I say give it at least 6 months no contact.

I also agree with dunstable. You should draw the line now. I can assure you, nine times out of ten a boy will keep you around as a 'friend' because he wants to sleep with you... not because he cares about you. Even if he doesn't fulfill his desire, and there are many reasons for that including a new girlfriend, it's there.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's time to say goodbye to my online flirty friend. I've been logging off every time I see him on :) but he's just so hot, I can't help feel a little disappointed. I'll be continuing the ignoring.

Good luck. It isn't easy. Every time I part ways with a guy I either start a new hobby or get back into an old one. It helps me meet new potential friends and lovers and gets my mind off the old.
