girls would probably put a label on me and call me the "nice guy"

anyway to the point, i havent played pool with any girls before if i recall usually with my buddies.

This weekend im going to a pool hall with my female friend and her buddies...since this is going to be the first impression in front of her friends...as well as trying not to seem "all that" what should i do??

"all that" as in beating my friend or her friends if theyre not good, im okay in pool because back in hs i would go every week to the pool hall with buddies.

I think when hte time comes, i will prefer to pretend that i suck in pool OR try to play on the same level as my friend. I don't want to make her feel bad about herself nor do i want to play on a serious level with any of her friends....U KNOW WHAT I MEAN!! If i beat a majority of them they will think i might be a cocky person, i dont want them to view me in that way.

I mean i love pool, whenever i get the chance i would always take it seriously unless i cant concentrate cause something's on my mind.

cause i feel it would be the guy thing to do to let the girl win...you know how in competitions most people do not like the idea of losing, it makes them feel bad about themselves...

So do you guys think i should act stupid and just screw around in the game as she and her friends might and not take it seriously or do you think i should play seriously??

...cause that would be stupid. If you're going there to have a good time, play in the way that you find most "fun". Don't play way below your level...but no need to cut-throat either, IF you find that they are just goofing around.

If you can have fun goofing around, do so. I am sure your close friends would love to have you teach them pool if you do right and if they need it. Standing right behind them and showing them with your hands how to hold the cue...lots of fun for both parties, no need to focus single-mindedly on pocketing the balls.

In any event that is primarily social, when one person greatly outclasses or is outclassed, yes, it may be better to turn it into more of a fun game, less of a competitive event, just to make it fun. Serious competitors should seek others at their level and then pull out all the stops.

It would be funny if one or more of these girls blows you away by being a much better pool player.

...girls count as people too, just like young "men" do. Try thinking of them that way. You'll find it helps.

Well what i meant wasnt to goof around, but actually to play on an unserious level, not taking the game serious.

Yep i would definitely be delighted to meet a girl that plays pool exceptionally well!!

Most girls that ive seen dont show much of an interest in pool, i think thats why not all of them take it seriously.

Well thanks for the advice, i'll see what happens then when we play....hehe if there are any cute or hot girls there, my pool skills would definitely benefit me :)
