LoveNeverFails
I am debating between having my hair half-way up or just up. My dress isn't strapless..it is more of a halter look dress but its very lacy and romantic looking. Any suggestions? Does the type of dress determine the hairstyle? Hope to hear from you! Island Girl
I am a big fan of the half up wedding look. Think Julia Roberts hair in Steel Magnolias. GORGEOUS HAIR. Especially if your gown is strapless.
Star Gazer
Either would work with the dress. But "romantic looking" tells me it should be more down than up... Also, sounds like you need to take the "feel" of the wedding into consideration. Is it going to be more formal, or more laid back?

Trialbyfire
It's a combination of the dress, veil/headpiece or not, your current hair style/type of hair and also, most importantly, what suits you best. Talk to your stylist, including bringing a picture of you, in your dress and veil/hairpiece, and a good one should be able to recommend something to you. Do this sooner, rather than later, so they can get one or two practice runs in and you can get a better feel for what look you want to end up with. The day of the wedding, make sure you bring your headpiece/veil with you, to the stylists!! DO NOT forget!
anne1707
TBF's advice is spot on. Whilst wanting to look your absolute best, you want to feel comfortable. If your style is naturally more relaxed then don't go formal with your hair and vice versa. Play around with styles, taking advice from your hairdresser.

Lauriebell82
I always liked the "half up" look. Thats what I will be wearing mine like for my wedding. If your gown is lacy and romantic then I'd go with the half-up look. It's more on par with that kind of tone. Are you going to wear a veil or tiara?
Author LoveNeverFails
Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I am wearing a veil.
Author LoveNeverFails
My hair is very fine. Anyone have any recommended styles for fine hair? I was thinking of waving it and doing some kind of braid with a white rose in the middle.

I was thinking of waving it and doing some kind of braid with a white rose in the middle. I wouldn't do a braid of any kind. It would accentuate that your hair is thinner. You may want to go see your hairstylist (bring your veil or tiara with you) so you can get some suggestions. A friend of mine has thin hair and did a lovely upswept twist with an extension piece so it looked really long with twisted tendrils. It was quite beautiful.

If you have some volume (like curls) the veil will stay better. When I tried on a veil (my hair is think, however it is very soft) therefore the veil had problems staying in my hair and not sliding out. Are you going to wear a tiara as well or just a veil?
