i'm hanging in man. thanks. my little girl will never see me being what i'm feeling. not like this, anyway. she's nothing but sunshine, and i'll never let her feel otherwise. the day just started off wrong. my daughter woke up today ready for school, and she said as we were loading into the truck "daddy, i know you and mommy broke up, but you'll get back together someday". she has just grasped the idea of this somewhere. i almost asked her did her mommy tell her that, but i just can't bring myself to that point. i just basically reiterated what i say each time. "darling, i love you too much, and i don't have room for anybody else right now. i know you want mommy and i to be together, but i can't say it will happen. we have a happy home right now, don't we?" she said yes, got a big hug, and off to school we went, blasting freaking jonas brothers the whole way.

MayI when my ex first left, everytime I went into town and walked round the shops (something we did nearly every Saturday), it felt like I would break in two the pain inside was so bad. That terrible, agonizing aching for someone, as if you are missing a limb. Over time this subsided, not all at once, but gradually. I guess what SRV said is true, it's like an addiction that gradually leaves your system and the withdrawls become less and less. Just like with smokers who gave up years ago, every so often I can be out shopping and it comes in like a wave, but it's not often fierce and it doesn't last long. The same will be true for you at work, with the texts etc, gradually it will subside and you will build a different way of functioning.

Some will say go out and date..... I tried that once and it made it worse.... as you say.... it is not her....comparing and realizing how different the new person may feel can actually be detrimental IMHO.... I know for me.... Once I feel indifference, is when I may consider seeing someone.... For me going out with someone to soon just brought out more emotions on how different this person was to my ex and how much history I had with ex compared to this new person.....

i'm glad you're back. this is what we do man. i've had a few drinking bouts when the kid isn't here. i honestly wasn't worried at all. you kicked a hole in your OWN car. you've handled it all the best you could, and usually come out as a gentleman. i'm sending you a man hug, whether you want it or not.

My family is close. I didn't realize the wedge my wife drove between me & my family over the yrs until now.

 

I've got a sister & good friends that basically let me bitch about wife non-stop for 3 weeks or so.

 

My sister hated her so it was easy there.

I got it out of my system. I have no problem now telling people what's going on when they ask me about my wife.

 

Now We sit around and laugh about how, despite the fact she lives in her own apartment & is still seeing the OM she calls me & asks me if I need anything from the store, tells me I look / sound tired & offers to do me little favors by running errends so I can get some rest.

She also still gives me little compliments. WTF?!?!

 

I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore.

I don't even have that stupid dialogue in my head where i'm arguing with her about how much of a POS she is.

 

Instead I think about the 3 or 4 women that have been showing interest in me the last few weeks & wonder WHY? & if i'm ready. LOL!

well, i have a 16 gb ipod, and gave her my 2 gb nano, that i just load her music onto. i keep mine for the truck and gym, and she likes to play in the yard with headphones on, and carry it to her mommy's and all.

HE introduced himself to me, and we exchanged niceties. 5 years of marriage. i never met this guy once. whatever. beside the point. a big part of me wants to call and tell her if he is staying at her little house tonight, then DD is not. her visitation is "as agreed". i don't think that's fair, honestly, but DD is my only concern. i don't want to affect her negatively, or confuse her in any way.
