Frodo
I don't really want to have 6 girlfriends at a time. My work takes up a lot of my life, so I wouldn't have time to manage a situation like that. All I want is one steady for dating, intimacy, and yes, sex. I'm wonder if this makes me unsophisticated; if somehow there's an expectation that I should date as many women as I can. I wouldn't like it done to me. Is cheating another one of those cultural hypocrisy things that people are supposed to give lip service against, but you're not cool if you don't do, like drinking and recreational drugs and lying and so on? moimeme
Be true to yourself. A man who knows himself and his values is MUCH more a man than one who conforms to the herd to be 'cool'.
jenny
it seems to me we 'judge' sophistication by how willing people are to judge, which is sometimes related to experience, but not always. for example, someone who has never been poor, or never known anyone very poor, for example, might be judgmental against illicit methods of gaining money. i tend to be judgmental about women who are addicted to men who are cruel to them, for example, because i have no knowledge or experience here. live and let live. do what you feel in dating, and it sounds to me like you want to only date one girl. that's very cool, do so, and don't judge methods that other people use unless they act on you directly. cheers, babies
yes
doing exactly what you want, and not caring about the opinion of anybody not directly involved, is very sophisticated, to my mind. -yes
jenny
we're not in disagreement. someone who does as they please can *afford* NOT to run about judging others, other people's limitations threaten them not at all.
yes
who's not in disagreement? if you mean you and I, then "not at all" was directed at Frodo's initial question, not at you =) -yes

Thinkalot
I say good on you Frodo for having some standards about what you want. Don't follow anyone else. Just do what feels right to you and follow your own ethical standards.
