Hey everybody -

 

I have recently started in the gym again after about 9mth break. I'm working on increasing my endurance, mostly by running and cycling. I've also started with some light weigh lifting - but may main concern is to get rid of 10-15 extra lbs.

 

I'm having the same problem as I had last time when I was active in the gym. Every time I reach back to stretch my thigh after few miles running I get this very unpleasant cramp between my ribs. That is ridiculous, but it keeps coming again and again.

 

My second problem is also related to cramps. I sometimes have problem when tying my shoes. When I bend forward, I also get a painful cramp in a muscle located approx. 4-5 inches above my belly button.

 

I am 27 year old male, 6'0" weighting about 200 lbs. Do you have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong and perhaps ideas on what I can do about it??

If both of these are consistent, and they sound like they are, I would suggest seeking professional medial advice. When you have consistent pains anywhere, usually there is something that needs to be addressed. When was the last time you were checked for a hernia?
