Bayern
How do you stay healthy and fit? Let us know! I play professional football for a club in Switzerland (second tier) so I usually have a decent amount of fitness with that, but in the summer I'm back home in America (between university years) and I have to stay in shape. I don't have a set routine, but here is what I do. I like to mix cardio workouts with strength training. 4 times a week I run 1.5 miles to the gym, stretch (stretching is VERY important!!!), then lift weights for about an hour working on specific muscles (and alternating). Then I head over for more cardio and bike a few miles at a fast pace. Next I take a swim doing somewhere in the range of 1000 meters before again running 1.5 miles (this is at a 6 minute mile pace). Then I get home and do an ab workout (which by the way works very nicely after swimming and running. You are in a perfect position to work the abs). The other days I get together with some friends and play football. The best thing about actually playing a game is the unpredictable movements your muscles are forced to make. You really work everything rather than isolation in the gym or repetetive cardio. The other days I stay at home and do some quick push-up, dips, ab-workout routines. If you can only do one thing to remain in shape I would suggest SWIM, SWIM, SWIM! Good luck.
Lyssa
That's a good work out, Bayern. As for me, I go to the gym 4 times a week. I do cardio, strength and weight training. Other than that, I play tennis at least twice a week with my brothers. I love swimming so I swim every other day or night for an hour. I'm trying to work on my butterfly strokes - damn that's hard! I brisk-walk every Sunday morning with my father and fiance since he's here now. My father needs some exercise so I keep him company that way and it's good for us too. Also, we play golf every other week (I do, anyway cause I don't see much workout from playing golf ).
Trojan John
Hopp St. Gallen!!! My routine varies, but mainly consists of 45-60 minutes of muscle building or strengthening 3 days per week, and cardio the other days which can be cycling or running, but mainly capoeira which is great for flexibility, strength and stamina. Bah! Lugano!!! Great workouts both of you. I especially like the capoeira - a real good workout from what I read. Keep it up!

bella16
I am a exercise freak! I love working out. People think I am crazy because I have such great will power to keep doing what Im doing all the time. And I'm often complimented on my body, so that helps me keep going and stride for more. I work a full-time job 8-4:45, mon-fri. I wake up at 4am and have a healthy breakfast. I'm at the gym by 5am (gym is right by my house), I workout for an hour or so and come home, shower and go to work by 8am. At night I take a cardio kickboxing class 3-4 nights a week... the best thing I have ever signed up for and put money into! I've been doing this for almost 2 years now faithfully and I refuse to give it up. Kickboxing is kind of addicting!! I feel so great coming out of each class and I am always so excited and hyped up before each class! Cant wait for tonight!!!

I'm taking a class at my gym right now that has intense cardio and kickbozing is one of them. I really get a sweat going after 10 minutes, and the workout is 45 minutes in total. EddieN
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are strictly steady-state cardio days. One of them is an hour total on the ergometer (rowing machine, great workout). The other 2 will be an hour on the erg, 30 minutes of swimming, and an hour to an hour and a half of running. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I do lifting. I do squats and 5 other leg lift exercises each of these days, as well as ab exercises. Then I will do a variety of chest, arm, shoulder, and back exercises 2 of the 3 days. Legs are much more important to me. After the lift, which takes about 2 hours, I'll go in the racquetball court and whack the ball around for about an hour, mostly for fun . Then a few hours later, I'll do a second workout at home - usually 20 min of swimming and 40 min of the erg.
Pyro
I don't have a set schedule. Its whenever I have the time, but my routine consists of weight lifting, jogging, and rollerblading. I'd add swimming on there if I was good at it.

Full body, and we never do the same things in the same week. My instructors are really great at what they do! And I get a sweat going also in the very beginning... our warm-up is always intense!
