adzent
Ok so im no suicidal, but i do have some adherse views on life. Heres the cycle: Were born, we live, we die. we all now this. And if there is one true constant in the entire universe, it is death. an ending. Our world is far from perfect. We have been stricken with war since time began, and although strive to become better, there are some who would see the foundations of this very planet crumble at their feet in their name. Humanity is not pure of soul, we are not all good hearted. We are a disease to this planet. We are like an infection. A fact that many people overlook and do not understand. We have evidentally kick started a chain process which will see the end of our species. The planet is reacting to the disease, just like our bodies do. We have realised our faults, but we still do not ammend them. We recognize that alone, we stand no chance of saving the planet and yet we fight each other on a massive scale. We, all of us, overlook the one treu thing we should all be going towards. A better life, for both the planet and ourselves. We are connected. Us. Our planet. Our galaxy and our universe. We all have originated from somewhere, wether it be the big bang or not, and we must look upon these things as our brothers. We need to look after them and we need to trwasure the prescious life we have been given.
roflmao
Hey adzent. Well, I can understand your point of view. In fact, I can't get along with the idea that we all gonna die someday. It just scares the c*** out of me. Some years ago, I couldn't even sleep because of these feelings, and I felt strongly unconfortable, with breathing difficulty, in one of the ocasions. I discussed this with a friend once, and he had a funny answer. I might use the same answer to you: "Dude! Why do you even bother with it!? Omg it doesn't matter if when you die you become a animal, a rock, a b****, or if you'll simply disappear from this whole universe. What you CAN and SHOULD worry about, is the time it was given to you. After death, it doesn't matter" You may not believe it, but it changed my way of seeing things slightly. As for the "we are like an infection" part. Well someone obviously decided to create the human race, along with the Nature. If it was God or the guy next door, seriously it doesn't matter. We're here already. As humans, we'll always have reasons to fight and to kill each other, as selfish living beings. However, I do believe that everything has a good and a bad side. And the good side of this, is that these conflicts joins people together, and the friendships become stronger with time. For example: Why are we all in this board? Some conflicts in a relationship? Familly issues? What matters is that we're all to support each other, and that's the "good side" of the story. Concluding: don't give too much importance to those complex themes that even the greatest scientists can understand. Don't worry with it and make a good use of your life
RA1
Humanity is not pure of soul, we are not all good hearted. We are a disease to this planet. I share your revulsion at the atrocities of mankind. The moral values of mankind appear not to have been much better in the 20th and 21st centuries than they were thousands of years ago. We have advanced our technology so that we can can now commit atrocities on an unprecedented scale but we have not substantially advanced our morality. That is not to say there have not been some advances such as the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and the International Criminal Court. We are also seeing genuine efforts to solve the global warming problem such as the Kyoto Protocol and the current US cap and trade bill. So there are some promising signs for the future. But those advances have been made in the face of much opposition from those who can only think of their self-interest. No doubt also many examples can be found of backwards steps in morality , such as the use by the USA and the UK of imprisonment without trial, the use of torture either at home such as at Guantanamo or by shipping suspects to countries like Uzbekistan for more severe torture, not to mention wars that many suspect were conducted for economic gain or for personal agrandissement (e.g. Falklands, Iraq). It is also discouraging that so many people are so easily manipulated by unscrupulous leaders. I'm an optimist so inclined to feel mankind is on balance making some progress in moral values but much too slowly. Why it is so hard, I don't entirely know.
