Write something wonderful about your partner

While I don't care who or what you love, the funny part isn't the person/object itself but the comparison of passion and kindness as character traits. Come on, laugh a little!

Don't be telling me what you do with your strappy sandals with all that passion! :lmao:

 Well I love my strappy sandals. They comfort me in social settings and give me confidence. My favorite are my red ones. They show my passionate and adventurous side. They say a lot about me actually. And they show I'm kind because if I weren't I'd wear ugly Birkenstocks for the world to see. No one has to turn away when they see my pretty shoes.

How about we drop it? I already put the thread back on topic.

Ok, LB, I'll be a big girl & move on with you...

I liked what you said about your fiance - it was very sweet. I hope you two will be very happy as a married couple.

Thank you, I appreciate it.

We have actually had a good time planning the wedding too, we have agreed on mostly everything. I think he was afraid I'd be a bridezilla but so far I haven't! Thankfully we have the same vision for a wedding.

To be fair to LB, she's got a sweetness about her, far more of a frou-frou person, than I and some other members are. That's not a bad thing. She's just easy to tease.

LB, love who and what you want and for that matter, I do wish you the best of happiness, with your man. :)

Well I have never heard of a man who was talking about the golf clubs to tv he received as an management present. But women do get $14,000 rings in addition to having the men initiate everything.

What about the women who are getting free labor from men? Do women do jobs around men's houses that save men $70-80 an hour?

Why haven't more men posted?

You're a hoot. I already said I'm unpaid labor here. I do all the housework, cooking, grocery shopping AND help run my H's office. I don't get paid. You're laughable. If my H had to hire someone to do all that I do, it would cost him big time.

She's easy to tease because she can't really laugh at herself as she claims. You need to lighten up, LB. We're all teased about smething on here. I'm teased all the time (partying in the RV, drinking boxed wine..and no, I don't drink boxed wine...my 1980's bikini, etc. etc.) And that stuff I mentioned is just things SG has teased me about! I get others teasing me about other stuff too. But I don't get all huffy about it. Some of it genuinely makes me laugh.

So yeah, learn to laugh at yourself.

Around MEN's houses? Certainly you mean round the family's home, right?

But yes, they most certainly do!

A full-time stay-at-home mom would earn $134,121 if only she were paid for her work. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/05/12/opinion/main1616324.shtml

I hate being teased, it's not funny or enjoyable for me. I hate even more that people tease me even when they know it hurts me.

And speaking of teasing...Mr. T teases a lot. I do this mock thing..feigning being hurt and stick my bottom lip out. He thinks that's hilarious for some reason.

(SG, clear out your PM box.)

:lmao: Everyone should just call you Ms. Franzia (boxed wine for those of you not in the know).

It's a good thing we can laugh at ourselves. :D

Oh, LB. YOu shouldn't be that sensitive. Gosh, doesn't your fiance' ever tease you? Mr. T and I tease all the time. I make fun of his OCD and he makes fun of many of my quirks (including my love of LS.) I can't imagine us NOT teasing each other!

He knows I am that sensitive and that teasing hurts me, therefore he tries not to. I tease him, but he isn't as sensitive about it and if he told me that it hurt him I would stop in a minute.

BF teases me all the time; I love it. TBF must too, as she enjoys getting "drowned" in the pool!

A relationship cannot survive without a sense of humor. It just can't. That's something else I love about my BF... he doesn't take himself too seriously. He rolls with the punches and isn't easily upset. We enjoy teasing one another. :)

There's a level of tolerance, which most people have. If someone feels that the teasing has malice embedded, they're less likely to see it as a source of humour. If it's from someone who they feel has no malice, then yes, I agree that it's a good thing to be able to laugh at self.

Having said that, I think we all should try to treat others with a level of respect. I'm including myself, since sometimes, my black humour gets the best of me and I unintentionally hurt others.

Her father has a few anger issues, but despite that she respects him and treats him with deference because, as she simply says "I must bow to him, he is my father." This degree of respect and love for family is something I can only admire.

S. is a HUGE tease, and in more ways than one. He can take it too. This is another quality I adore about him!:laugh:

I have yet to EVER see anyone have any ill will towards LB, her BF included. If she feels otherwise, perhaps she should (for lack of a better phrase) "lighten up a little." Teasing is just that, teasing... :)

Well, Im sorry if my teasing ever hurt you. I know I've teased you before (about seeing your ring across a room, etc.) but come on, LB! It's true that in order to have a good marriage you must develop the ability to laugh at things and that includes laughing at ourselves.

Do you get mad at your mom when she teases you about the bear?

I can laugh to a certain extent, I guess years of torment just did me in.

That's a HUGE quality in my book. Can you imagine me with someone who would get all butt hurt over a little teasing?

Something else I love about my BF: He calls when he takes off and lands on business trips. I never have to worry about whether he's gotten there safely, he's already let me know. :)

Well she knows not to do it a lot and to do it very gently because I don't like it, so she doesn't do it that often.

A lot of hurt in high school has just made me so sensitive. When I was a junior in high school a really popular boy wrote me a note asking me to go to the homecoming dance with him. It turns out that him and two of his other friends got together and decided to write the note to me as a cruel joke. (kind of like the movie "Never Been Kissed" if you've seen it). Everyone made fun of me for the whole year for believing it.
