I've been eating really badly for the last two years. My weight is fine (I have a fast metabolism), but I'm worried about my health.

Problem is I have an addiction to sugar and carbs. I really, really want to change my diet, but I LOVE food, especially bad food. Like I actually look forward to my meals. While healthy food can be OK, it just doesn't do the same thing for me. A life without unhealthy food (sweets, pizza, etc) seems kind of miserable to me, but I have a lot of trouble moderating once I start eating unhealthy crap.

Any advice? Anyone with a similar problem, and what's worked for you?

hi shadow

i m not an expert on this but somehow i face the same issue

start by cutting down on the pizzas i know hard to do it but than you have to. i appreciate your high metabolism rate (wish i had that).

start eating high fibre diet like soya sandwiches which make your stomach filled and you feel like the same.

i personally have found a way to get rid of those pizzas by eating sandwiches , and i prefer whole wheat bread.

i hope that would be of some help to you

take care

You may want to read the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet book. It basically advocates eating healthier for most of the day, but allowing yourself one reward meal, where you can eat what you want, but it all has to be done in one 60 minute period instead of allowing yourself to snack all evening.

This is a good place to start if you are eating poorly all day, but eventually you'll want to do it even less often than once a day. Eventually you'll want to eat healthy for most of the week and give yourself a cheat day on the weekend.

You don't necessarily have to go low carb, but you should aim for healthy carbs. Switch all your bread products to whole grain. If you need a sweet carb fix for dessert, try a piece of fruit. Pizza can still be made with healthy ingredients. Save any sweets for after a workout when your metabolism is running high and will use up the fuel.

I know this won't be much help to you, but I almost eliminated sugar from my diet due to acne. You see, I had a fast metabolism like yourself, and I didn't notice my binge eating untill I started getting spots. Once I made a vow to remove them and my progress was so easily trackable I managed to stick with it.
