nama
LS has been so supportive. I just wanted to share something that happened to me last week. For a long time I had 'lost' myself and was just stubbling from one thing to another. For those of you that have read my posts my life has been 'marred' by sexual abuse, oppressive parents, low self-worth, and being involved with a married man for years. I decided to see a psychotherapist - i had seen one before briefly but we didn't 'gel'. I did with this one though. I've had various break throughs in understanding my behaviour but the best one was last week. For the first time in my life I was able to say to myself 'I'm ok with me'. And I am. I'm great. I am a decent human human being. I don't want to be like anyone else. I don't want to conform. Why should I? I feel like what they call (and honestly I thought it was clap trap) my authentic self. I just wanted to share this. I feel so negative all the time that I wanted to share something positive. Don't get me wrong, I believe I have a long way to go yet in understanding myself and why I do things but its a break through. I guess I also want to ask you guys whether anyone else has been though this and what they did next. Thats just it, I don't know what to do next. I feel strange....
Ronni_W
Congrats, nama! It can be a strange feeling when all-of-a-sudden there's this whole new world of possibilities and potentials. I read or heard somewhere that, if you don't know what to do next, start off by thinking as big as possible, then 'narrow' it until it comes into focus how you can achieve that 'big' goal on a smaller scale, in your own little corner of the world. Maybe these types of questions will help you get started. If you didn't have to worry about money or any other current obligations and responsibilities... What would you choose to do next? What would you want to accomplish? What would you want to give back to others?
