texasred
Three songs that work well for me include: Would-Alice in Chains Down in a hole-Alice in Chains and 37 Stitches-Drowning Pool They all work well for me especially because I did it to myself. Also the one I would like for her to hear is You'll never find a love like mine-Lou Rawls Love Songs Suck!
JohnnyBlaze
The only song I'd ever have called a "break-up" song was Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me". The day we broke up, we had one last dance to that song. I would look up the lyrics, but, well, I like my computer too much to torture it like that. After the breakup, it was The Bartender Song. The lyrics are really easy. Every 10-15 minutes, say "ready for another one?" and a minute or two after that, say "here you go". Repeat until last call. Admittedly, the song starts off kind of slow, but after an hour or two, it gets a LOT better. Fortunately, since we split, I haven't had to listen to Dion, and I haven't had to dance. And quite frankly, I'm happy about both of those points!

Author joseffrost
Blood on the Tracks may very well be my favorite album of all times. Mine too, I have always loved it, but now it resonates so much more with my situation and I can truly appreciate the raw emotions behind the songs. The Bootlegs version of Idiot Wind is some powerful stuff too.
broken_promises
You use to hold the door for me now you can't wait to leave You use to send me flowers if you ****ed up in my dreams I use to make you laugh with all the silly **** I did now you roll your eyes and walk away and shake your head When the spark has gone and the candles are out and the song is done and there's no more sound whispers turn to yelling and I'm thinking [Chorus:] How do we get so mean? How do we just move on? How do you feel in the morning when it comes and everythings undone? Is it 'cause we wanna be free? Well that's not me. Normally I'm so strong I just can't wake up on the floor like a thousand times before knowing that forever won't be I'm always sentimental when I think of how it was when love was sweet and new and we just couldn't get enough The shower, it reminds me you'd undress me with your eyes and now you never touch me and you tell me that you're tired You know it gets so sad when it all goes bad and all you think about is all the fun you've had and all those "sorry"'s ain't never gonna mean a thing [Chorus] I know we said some things that we can never take back We opened up the wine and we just let it breathe but we should've drank it down while it was still sweet It all goes bad eventually Now do we stay together 'cause we're scared to be alone We got so used to this abuse it kind of feels like home but my baby I just really wanna know oh. Graduate
Even though my ex hated Country Music, the lyrics of this song could be taken straight from his lips: I move on like a sinners prayer And letting go like a levee breaks Walk away as if I don't care Learn to shoulder my mistakes Or built to fade like your favorite song Get reckless when there's no need Laugh as your stories ramble on Break my heart, but it won't bleed My only friends are pirates That's just who I am But I'm better as a memory than as your man Never sure when the truth won't do And pretty good on a lonely night Or move on the way a storm blows through And never stay, but then again, I might. I struggle sometimes to find the words Always sure until I doubt Walk a line until it blurs Build walls too high to climb out But I'm honest to a fault That's just who I am I'm better as a memory than as your man I see you leaning, you're bound to fall I don't want to be that mistake I'm just a dreamer and nothing more You should know it before it gets too late Cause goodbyes are like a roulette wheel You never know where they're gonna land First you're spinning, then you're standing still Left holding a losing hand But one day you're gonna find someone And right away you'll know it's true That all of your seeking's done It's just a part of the passing through Right there in that moment you'll finally understand That I was better as a memory than as your man Better as a memory than as your man
