Haha, I think Charlie Sheen said that. But anyway, I dunno. Prostitutes are pretty risky. Though, I can understand why men reach a point of just not caring anymore. I just don't know if it's really worth it though.

I understand alpha's proposed solution. High end escorts are simply less complicating to one's life.

 

However, there are negatives. Just recently, we had the Dean of the Villanova Law School, and a very good Catholic, get implicated as a "john" in a busted prostitution ring. The man had to resign as Dean and law professor at Villanova.

So if you're going to pay, keep three things in mind: don't catch anything; don't get involved in any police action/investigation (don't be "Spitzered"); and don't get ripped-off by your escort.

I think America's complicated dating rituals inevitably lead to the understandable frustration alpha (and myself) are feeling. Sometimes I wish I had been born in another country that places marriage above love. Travel a bit and you'll see that people just pair up arbitrarily. It's not complicated and everyone has a place and sense of importance to someone else.

Yeah, after crunching the numbers, my assertion of 25 years ago that hookers would be cheaper and less stressful turned out to be prophetic. ;) I think it was HIV that tipped things for me back then.

 

Perhaps alpha can find a middle ground between this all-in dating philosophy and hookers. I'm finding more of a 'whatever' attitude now, especially with good friends and a boatload of passions to pursue. If I find a partner to share those with, cool. If not, cool. We die alone anyway. Enjoy the journey :)

Pros:

  • no scrounging for phone numbers
  • no uneasy or boring first dates
  • no weirdo chicks playing games
  • no gold-diggers just looking for a fancy meal
  • no lying just to get some woman into bed
  • no emotional attachement issues
  • no "should i call her tomorrow?" questions
  • probably cheaper in the long-run to use hookers
  • no worries about "accidental" pregnancies
  • the hooker leaves after sex

Cons:

  • *sound of crickets chirping*
