Oh, I recently saw something Karma related that I liked:

 

You know the "tip jar" at your coffee shop? Sometimes the employees put notes on them as to what the money will be used for or what they are saving for like, "Kims vacation" or "Books for College"...

 

At my local ice cream shop the jar has a sign on it too: Karma Jar

 

I love it, and tip very very well. Doesnt hurt right?

Well here is what I dont understand about Karma, I never wished anything bad on anyone even if I got screwed over badly and I did by my ex and everytime he did something bad to me, something bad would happen to him even though I did not wish anything on him and my last words to him were I wish you the best in life and I hope everything works out for you take care of yourself, and I didnt look back since, and never have wished anything bad on him but he still keeps on getting hit in the face. I wonder if someone else is wishing something negative on him... but all I know is that everytime he did something to me the next day something bad would happen to him and like I said I dont wish anything bad on him only the best. I dont feel you should hold anger in and no matter what someone did you should always forgive them if not for their sake then for yours.

In Buddhism, we are taught that The Buddha declared that there are four Unconjecturables - that is, four different things we really should not try to figure out....

One of these, is the complex Laws of Kamma.

 

Nobody can really say for certain why your ex- keeps getting hammered, but it may be a remnant of something he did in a previous life.

But see, that's not a certain given...although we hold that re-birth is a Buddha's teaching.... so it's not worth questioning, because there is no reply.

 

The best counsel I could give you, is that - it's not so much what Life deals us, it's how we deal with it and react to it.

No, it's that he is doing it to himself; creating his own experiences/reality. Karma is about facing the consequences of our OWN actions and inactions, including beliefs and emotions. Nobody has the power to "wish" good or bad Karma onto anyone else -- we're just always doing to/for ourselves :eek:

As to bad things happening to someone whether they have been wished on them or not....

 

Karma isnt up to us. We dont dish it out to each other. We dont create other peoples Karma.

 

I have been Karma's recipient , messenger, and vehicle ...but Ive never caused or created someone else's.

I don't believe in karma as some kind of force that dictates what happens or leads to an outcome, nor do I really believe in the existence of a higher power or deity...I think people's own outlook directly effects their world and what is around them. Case in point:

 

For many years I was very confident in my dealings with women, and quite frankly as I was dating I basically "cheated" on all of them, playing the field. It was wrong, but we weren't married, and without that level of commitment, I always felt like my actions, while ugly, weren't exactly reprehensible. Then, I got married, swore off other women, but changed my whole complexion in terms of my behavior. I got complacent, I think, and probably stopped the whole game and pursuit that had brought energy to previous relationships...the marriage is in the process of fizzling out and dying right now. It just so happened that I ran into an ex girlfriend a week or so ago, and for whatever reason I went and talked to her like the old me -- but not exactly the same person. I'm a lot more mature, and have been looking at this whole situation as an opportunity to learn some things about myself and life.

 

I'm taking this terrible experience of getting a divorce and viewing it as a chance to make myself better...and I think that carries a lot of force behind it, more so than building up a positive or negative energy as a result of thoughts or actions.

 

Except, and here is where it gets weird, trying to maintain a positive outlook and view this as a chance to improve myself...plays right into the definition of what TaraMaiden is telling us karma actually is.

The trick (to take the 'creepiness out of it! :D) is to quite literally, watch what you're thinking.

As is often said:

 

"All conditions are Mind-wrought."

 

That is to say, everything you FEEL, think say and do, begins in your mind.

here's the clincher:

 

If you feel depressed and down about something it's because you began to have depressing negative thoughts in the first place.

These are a trigger, releasing the equivalent emotions.....

 

So if you begin to think about how much s/he hurt you, or what s/he did, then your feelings of sorrow, resentment and despondency will arise, almost instantly.

 

If however, you 'watch yourself' thinking these thoughts, and realise you are self-sabotaging, you can stop yourself, and refuse to entertain such thoughts. You can discipline yourself to say:

 

"No! Enough! I'm done, thinking this way! we had something great, and now it's over! I'm moving on, because I'm worth it and I matter!"

 

It takes enormous discipline and practice.

And sometimes, habits will prevent you from stopping the thoughts.

But that's what it is. habit and self-conditioning.....

 

You can change it, for the better.

And by thinking well, you'll speak well, act well and be well.

You can say outloud:

 

"I release to let other people around me define, who I am and what kind of a person I am."

 

"I release to give my power away to other people (...maybe family members, friends,..or people I imagine) to define who I am and what kind of a person I am."

 

 

Affirmation:

 

"I allow myself to be who I really am."

 

I am who I am.

 

So it is!"

"I release to feel unsupported by the world around me." (...maybe family, friends, colleagues, spouse)

 

"I release to never ask for support."

 

"I release my fear that if I ask for support that I will be rejected."

 

 

Affirmation:

 

"I choose to ask for support when I need it and to fully allow it in all areas of my life.

 

I open myself to see all the support that is available to me.

And I receive it NOW."

nothing will change if you are bitter and dont forgive. forgive yourself and forgive them, bless them, love them, forgive them and set them free.

you dont need to break NC to forgive and let go.
