October 6-weight loss deadline

I have given myself 1 year to be back to my pre-baby weight. My son will turn 1 on October 6. When I left the hospital, I weighed 205. I am 5'5". Very porportioned. Anyway, as of today I weigh...let me check the scale....185. So in 10 months, I have only lost 20 lbs....not good. I now have 8 weeks to loose another 25 lbs. I don't know where to begin. I thought about beginning with a fast to detox (TMI---a little constapated.) I think that I should do cardio for 45 min per day and cut my calories to 1000-1200. Sounds easy---NOT...Does anyone have any suggestions?

your last 2 sentences hit the nail on the head. hit the treadmill(or run) cut your cals. it's basically simple, just takes willpower.

I honestly don't know that much about dieting, and less than I care to admit about effective exercise programs; but I'm a little concerned that your expectations may not be entirely realistic. I'm not sure you can lose that much weight that quickly in a healthy and lasting way. Yes, cut calories and step up the cardio, but maybe not to the extent you're planning.

I was in the same boat for a year flogging my guts out to shift some lbs and got nowhere.

I'm same height as you and was roughly same weight too, i did an hour a day cardio and was down to 1000 kcal and still nothing.

Eventually what I did was substitute half my meat intake for Quorn as its lower fat (so i'd say do 50/50 in pasta or something), i'd stick to 1000 calories a day, less than 5% fat and did the cardio and I started to see really slow improvement.

Recently I found that you can buy Orlistat over the counter at your pharmacy without prescription- It is a weightloss drug and since I am seeing really good but healthy weightloss and now am down to just over 10 stone, maybe you could try that its brand name is Alli.

Good Luck with the diet :)
