Gender bashing.

One thing that I have realized since being here at LS (and in being bisexual and experiencing breakups with both men AND women in the past) is that both men and women do the same types of things in breakups. I guess I wish we could all refrain from saying things like "Girls always do..." or "Men are always the ones that..." because for every post describing some horrible thing that a woman did in a breakup, I can find an identical post about a situation where a man did the same thing.

I feel like the human experience of breaking up is universal. Men and women both play mind games. Men and women can both be cold and harsh when dumping someone. Men and women can both become distant. Men and women both reach out for contact even after you have kept NC. I could go on and on.

It just feels so hostile sometimes when you are reading a post and have to read a generalized statement bashing your gender when it is evident that both men and women can be guilty of doing the same things in relationships and breakups. I guess I'm just putting this out there as an observation.

No doubt about it that both men and women have the same capabilities in regards to break-ups.

IMO, if you want to get over a break-up sooner, open your mind and realize that not every single person of the same gender is the same exact way. If you were cheated on by a BF/GF, that doesn't mean they all will do that.
