Tomorrow is my first day of my senior year, and we're having a sort of recognition ceremony for all athletes. I have to be there because I'm part of the spirit squad (eh, I know lol) and my ex's new gf is going to be introduced. I'm scared to death he might be there to see her, as his cousin txted me today to tell me he leaves for college friday (my ex is going with him.) My question is, how do I deal with seeing him if he's there cheering for her? What do I do? I'm soooo scared. I haven't seen/talked to him in 3 months. Does anybody have any tips, advice, or words of encouragement for me? Pleaseee and thank you :)

Oh and his cousin called me last night 3 times at 3 am even though I haven't talked to him in ages. I thought that was odd. I didn't initiate contact. I just texted him the next day asking him if he needed anything! I don't think talking to his cousin will help me with moving on!

I don't support lieing. But in this case, I feel it is absolutely necessary. This is exactly what you do (really, regardless of if he is there or not). You go out there, you do your absolute BEST imitation of being the happiest, most secure person in the whole wide world haha. Ok, that's a little over the top. Just act like he is of no issue to you anymore. Don't even notice him. Definitely don't look for him.

If he happens to approach you, act as if he is an aquaintance that you haven't seen in awhile. Say hello, tell him you are doing great, and move on. Walk away.

If he is there, that situation is going to be very uncomfortable, and most likely painful... but I have all the faith in the world that you can pull it off. Just keep your head up high, smile, and act as though you don't have a care in the world. If not for him, for yourself.

As far as the whole cousin thing goes, I know how that is. I've been in a similar situation. And I find it best to basically cut off all ties between you and your ex. That includes family members.

Erica! Hi! I'm sorry I took a couple of days to answer! I've just been so busy! Well I kept your words on my mind all day yesterday, I went out there andcheered so hard I could barely talk afterwards. I didn't see him, I don't think he was there, but I do know she saw me having a blast and her jaw dropped. I guess she expexted me to be completely miserable. By the way "she" is my ex's new gf lol anyways that was an awesome feeling, just showing her that no, I wasn't miserable. Usually when something big and awesome happens to me ill get sad right after because I wish I could tell my ex, but last nightwas the first time I didn't think oh, I wish hecouldve been here to see me or somethinglike that! I did awesome thanks to you and your awesome advice!! :)

That's awesommmmmeeee!!!! I'm SO glad you had a great time!!! I found that if you aren't really in a great mood and don't want to act happy, even if you do... it'll end up making you happy anyway. If that makes any sense haha! Anyway, i'm very proud of you and very very happy for you!!! Good job!!!
