I quit a year ago with the patches after having been a full time smoker for 10 years. I also know that Wellbutrin/Zoloft works too.

That's where I want to be before I can truly say I have put it behind me.

It still hasn't really been that long.

How are you holding up and have you tried any new methods?

Thank you for asking.

I'm holding up okay.

I still get cravings, though - I believe I always will.

Heard a story the other day about a man who smoked a pack a day for 20+ years...and out of the blue he found himself reaching out toward the hood of his car for a pack of cigarettes, still.

Then, he remembered he was a nonsmoker.

I don't believe I can ever really even have just one.

I am fine around smokers, though. For some reason it simply doesn't phase me.

I did try nicotine gum a long time ago - I smoked a cigarette while on them. That was an experience.

Did you wear the patches even to bed?

I tried a few, wore them to bed, and the dreams were so intense.

I admire what you've accomplished by quitting - thank you, it really helps to hear your story, and know it is entirely possible to stay a nonsmoker.

...and don't move...or breathe ;)

I answered your post before, btw. I didn't forget. I think it got lost. I think I know why, as well.

Sorry alpha, thanks (again) for the oh-so-wise advice.

I realize it's been 3 months now.

Just want to commemorate it.
