How to ask about being 'friends with benefits'

Okay, I just broke up with my boyfriend of 1 year and a half because he's in the military and wants to concentrate on his career there and he wants me to experience my life here w/out missing out on anything. Meanwhile, i haven't gotten anything for 5 months!

He comes home in 3 days (the 26th) and I want to see if, even though we're not together, we can still have a little "fun." 5 months is a looong time and the boy is good with his hands... I'm not sure what he'll say and I'm not sure if I should call him so soon after we broke up (the 20th), but I want to know if anything's going to happen BEFORE he comes home.

What should I do?

If honestly all you want is some play, there is really nothing to lose by making the call. I say that because you sound so emotionally detached from the entire situation (almost upbeat) and some people can handle just being physical. If you do decide to call, be prepared for the "we need to move on" response. Make sure you can honestly handle that before calling. Otherwise, don't call and don't look back.

Personally, I'm not buying the career excuse. It sounds like he already has someone else out there and was tying up loose ends before he got home. 6 days before he came home he made the decision to focus on his career? That just doesn't add up. I know I'd have nothing to do with someone who keeps me waiting for 5 months and then breaks it off 6 days before coming home, no matter how physically good they are. But that's just me. Sorry, had to add my two cents.
