carhill Posted September 26, 2009 Share Posted September 26, 2009 I've had close friends in such situations and did project some of my personal issues and resultant viewpoints onto their unique circumstances. That was inappropriate. A better course is support and challenge, focusing on the person only, not what other actions I perceived and my personal opinion of them. Do you see how you can support your cousin without criticizing and crucifying his wife? Do you see how that is healthier? Why it is better for him to see his own path with his own eyes? If not, no worries. That's part of what life teaches. No one told me that when I was your age. I had to learn from my mistakes. Some were whoppers Link to post Share on other sites
