It seems that all those cases have you in common.. it looks like you are the carrier

If you read the CDC website on it it isn't as bad as the media makes it out to be..

  • 3 weeks later...

Wash your hands, carry hand sanitizer when you're out and about, when someone coughs/sneezes near you HOLD YOUR BREATH as you walk by them.. Rest when you need to, bulk up on vitamins and minerals, exercise, keep your stress level normal (then again, what's normal?) and I just heard that if you do feel a flu coming on, gargle afew times a day with salt and warm water..Apparently that helps cut down the spread of germs.

Many schools in our area closed due to high absenteeism.

As for the seriousness, I listened to a health nurse who was saying that most people will have mild symptoms. And it mostly gets those below 25 yrs. And then when asked if we should get the vaccination shot, she said, "Absolutely." My question is then...if it is mostly younger people who get it and most people have mild symptoms (even more so than the "normal" flu), then why should everyone get the vaccination?

My daughter and her father got their seasonal flu shots a month ago, but my daughter ended up getting the piggy flu. Then she passed it to me, and to her father. It is pretty bad, but I would have to say it is nothing compared to stuff I've already been through. It is like a really, really bad cold where you sweat through your clothes as an added bonus. STBXH has it much, much worse. He has asthma, and has ended up having to get breathing treatments, antibiotics, etc.

It is tearing its way through here. The vaccine did not get to our state in time to catch the spread.

glad you are all okay now. i know that there were some vaccines around here, but they were all gone in a bout an hour AND i was supposed to get my seasonal flu shot last week through work, but we have been unable to procure any vaccines because they are being sent to mass distribution places forst, like target, walmart, etc....

Lots of co workers have had it too. No one (that I know personally, anyway) has been hospitalized or died from it from the county, but someone in the next county over did die from it. My MIL is a nurse, so she is hooking us up big time with the 'at home' healthcare.

I think I just had it.

I got a cold a couple of weeks ago that was very different than other colds.

I didn't have any fever, but had terrible body aches and was soaking in sweat.

I'd wake up at night shivering cold and the sheets and everything was wet. It was hard to even stand still without getting weak.

It was gone in a couple of days though.
