Great.

About a month after my GF left me, I joined the gym near to my house. Unfortunately it is near to where she now lives. I been going 3 times a week or so but at the back of my head I have been wondering if my ex will join.

Well, a friend of mine (who goes to my gym also and knew my ex quite well) told me that she saw my ex at the gym. My ex entered the gym with a swipe card, so she is a member.

I am really fed up. No other gym very close.

Sigh. I guess I wont be going back there again.

:( Hugs, T. That does crap out!

Are you sure you want to give her that kind of power over you, though?

Stop being so beta.

Keep going to the gym, say hi if you see her and act like you don't give a rats ass that you're not together anymore.

Nope. You're going to keep on going to the same gym, on your usual schedule. If she shows up, flex a little more so she knows what she's lost out on!

I know it's hard! but you need to put on your ipod and zone out.

If she comes around find another machine, keep enough space as far as possible and be there on days when she's not. the quicker you detach the better and even better than that is to have a gym buddy who's gonna have your back. if she approaches you he plays defense and blocks the tackle. You move around and go for the end zone. repeat and win! lol!

Ok everyone. You are right. I will carry on. I dont know which times she will be there unfortunately so I cant go at other times. I dont think she will go before work as she gets to work early so i will start going first thing in the mornings.

Chrome barracuda: I NEVER want to have her as a gym buddy, although kicking her into touch into the end zone is not a bad idea. Is this to do with American Football? We dont really have that in UK so its a bit over my head!

I dont feel like I am being particularly weak, I just dont want to see her. I am passionate about NC and want to keep NC no matter what.

Ha! Bless her, she did always like my body even when I wasn't in the best shape. Now I am toning up I might go and buy some tighter gym clothes before I go again. That'll show her.

Hopefully I wont do what I did last week which was to fall off the treadmill in the middle of the gym at a very fast running speed. The gym people showed me the incident on their cctv as I was leaving. Was quite funny. But not dignified or particularly sexy :o

Sorry, I am going off on a tangent here.

Left in a Lurch

We must have the same luck. I had a girl just kind of blow me off and I play a sport I dedicate a lot of time to. She started dating someone else in my league and at my first game, there she is, sitting in the stands. Then I would see her all the time. It sucked but I just ignore her.

The best you can do is keep going and other then if she says hi, don't talk to her and go about your way. It will be a gut shot for a little while, but go to your gym, enjoy it, and pretend she doesn't exist.

So, was her new partner on the other team? Did you know which one he was? Did you play rough? Haha. I would not have been able to resist it.

Problem is, since she left me we have met properly once and bumped into each other twice. We have spoken a few times too, on the phone. At every occassion, she has cried quite a lot. Which makes me feel awful and also makes me wonder why she is, as she left me. I dont want that to happen again.

Someday - in the not too distant future - when you've moved on - met someone else - you will see her at the gym - you will feel absolutely nothing - you will probably chuckle to yourself - and you'll wonder why on earth you even felt the need to post about the fact that she has joined the same gym as you.

I introduced my ex to the gym when we were still together. I have seen his car there after work and on Saturdays. I go earlier and when he see's my car he won't go in. I have claimed my schedule and days that best fit my needs. I will not let him control when I want to workout.... I saw his car there one time when I wanted to work out and decided to work out later in the day..... Good idea to go in the mornings if you know she won't be there.....

You can still go, just don't go during the times she will normally be there. Go really early in the morning (trust me, there will be few people there).

 We all have our moments in the sun!

Just relax and don't worry about seeing her. Indifference and even friendliness when or if you're ever ready for it, is the ultimate goal. Why give power to someone who doesn't have your well-being in mind? Rhetorical question of course! :):bunny:

An ex used to go to my gym when I was in college... I took a deep breath and ignored the hell out of her, focusing on my workout instead.

She got the message.

Agreed. Pick up that barbell and when she walks by just say "1,001...1,002, 1003" lol. But in all seriousness you did say it was "your" gym and not "her or our" gym...so you should be ok.

I think Chrome was suggesting you go to the gym with a mate, so if she does approach, he can butt in a deflect her ass..

It's a good suggestion - any possibility you can do it?
