I'm panicking...about tomorrow my 1st day

Recommended Posts

so here we go...for the past year I have been mostly at home playing house...being a "house-wife" taking care of all our pets specially the new arrival...we got a baby golden 2 weeks ago he is 3 months now...and I moved to a different state...there have been a lot of changes in the past year some serious ups and downs...and I finally feel ready to jump back in workmode full-time

I have been a professional make-up artist for 10 years and have always worked my butt off big time...I love what I do it really is a super fun field...and although I've been home this whole year but I have done some gigs here and there when the money was right...

well I got myself back in track and I start my new job tomorrow for Lancome...I love them I worked for them in the past for 3 years...I'm excited as hell but I'm panicking and I'm really nervous so nervous that I have to stay close to the bathroom :o

I though I was ready to go back but it certainly doesn't feel like it today. I think what I'm most nervous about is people...I have no friends in this area yet except for my neighbour across from me...I want to do well i want people to like me and I want to make new friends but for the first time ever lil bubbly outgoing me is about to have a meltdown...?!?!?!?!? I feel like a child getting ready for my first day of pre-school...its like I have been able to be home and I'm on my own rules my own schedule and have been the care-taker of everyone...my BF does nothing at home other than vacuum and mop...I do everything I mean everything it was never this way before but since i've been home and he's been working 70-75 hour weeks I handle the house...he can't even pick out his outfit for work I have to put it together for him every morning from underwear to socks to tie you name it every lil thing...how am I going to manage? I already losing it and I haven't even started yet...I just took a xanax I'm so full of anxiety

I'm feeling a bit all over the place...I'm thinking about all the what if's under the sun possible

Well.. firstly... it will be good.. don't worry about it.. you come across as a very nice, friendly person.. so I'm not worried about people liking you.

But, I'm worried about your bf.. you need to get him back on YOUR workmode as well.. I can understand that you had the time and you were willing to look after him.. but now you have no more time for that...

You're not his servant.. he needs to understand that.. so I hope you'll have a serious talk with him..

Good luck for tomorrow.. keep us posted.. :bunny:

think of it this way, you are CEO of a very successfully run corporation (your home), and you've got loads to share with others when it comes to knowledge (both homemaking AND your artistry with makeup) ...

as for making friends, a smile is the biggest personal advertisement you can make ... people are attracted to friendly faces/personalities, and I also think you'll do just fine.

if it helps, have a family member or friends visit your counter briefly – it's great moral support!

yes this is a major concern he has been very spoiled because we became this old school style couple lol...in which he's the provider and i am the maid...lol...I love playing house though...

here's the thing too his an only child and his mom never worked (while they were married) so he is used to being taken care of 1000%

i just txted him that we need to chat tonight when he comes home about how we are going to do things around here from now on
