I'm not sure why, but the last few weeks I have just been extremely tired all the time. It's a pretty noticeable difference from just being a bit tired from not getting enough sleep the night before. The thing is I am getting enough sleep. It does not matter if I get 8+ hours or two hours of sleep a night I'm just always groggy! I dont' even like to go out anymore unless I really have to because I just don't feel like it. Saturday, my brother asked me to go shopping with him to buy my mom a bday gift. I had gotten a good eight hours of sleep the night before, but I fell asleep in the damn car. Oh and forget watching a movie or trying to read a book because my eyelids just get so heavy and I'm out before I know it. What the heck could be wrong? The only other symptom I have are headaches, but I've always had those. This being tired all the time came on suddenly and it's been this way for a good two weeks now. If it does not improve I guess I'll go to the doc, but this is just strange! I'm usually the one who could live off of two hours a night no problem, but now I can't get enough.

It's been awhile since I have actually had a check up. When I was working I usually only went to see the doctor if I was really really sick. I can't say that my life is really that stressful. I have been a bit depressed lately due to not being able to find a job. I worry a lot about that and it's always on my mind. I dunno, could that actually make me feel so drained and tired? I have been extremely stressed before, but never felt anything like this. No amount of stress has made me feel this blah before. I feel like I have gone three days straight without any sleep. I'm more tired than I used to be after pulling all nighters back in college. This is just strange, but if it keeps up then I guess I have no choice but to see the doc because I can barely function like this. Some days aren't so bad, but others I'm a walking zombie.

Thanks for the response Mea! This whole thing just came on so suddenly.

Yes. If you are suffering from even just a slight amount of depression it's enough to make you tired. It can also cause physical pain like the headaches your having. Now since you have not had a check up, I think your best bet would be to see your primary care ann just have a simple routine physical. And then tell him or her about the depression.. he or she should be able to guide you on that. Good luck. and feel better.

I hate to ask, but that was always the first way I knew I was pregnant.

Are you active? Working out gives you more energy, rather than make you more tired. Sounds like you could use some endorphins?

Same here- that kind of tiredness when you are newly pregnant is crazy i was sleeping 10 hours a night and having catnaps during the day.

Then I got low in iron and had similar symptoms.

Stress can also affect your iron/B12 levels, and if they are low you feel more tired than you normally would.

...This whole thing just came on so suddenly

Ask your gp to check to check your blood sugar, see how everything is going on that front.

Best of luck to feel better soon.

Okay, to be completely honest, I was afraid about the whole being pregnant thing.....but I have since had a period. Besides, I am big on using protection so unless something very drastically went wrong I don't see how that could be a concern.

I probably could use some more exercise. I used to be extremely active, but I have since gotten out of the routine. I'm sure that would probably help! I'm going to see how this week goes and I'm going to try and get back into my exercise routine. If I don't see an improvement then I'll definitely be visiting the doc. I have just never felt this drained in my life.

Its always worth getting a check if you haven't been for a while.

Women are more prone to fluctuations in their iron and vit B12 (among other things) levels, and you may just need a little boost in that department which is cheap and relatively quick to fix.

You could always just buy a multivitamin from your pharmacy- there are special "stress" and "tiredness" formulas that could help.

Cora, get some natural medications that will help restabilize your body's equilibrium. Obviously, stress is getting to you, and if it's only the fatigue, then maybe it's just your blood glucose level being affected and that can be treated.

The natural medication is no joke. I took it once and it really helped, and it helped alot more than the industry drugs I was also taking that made me feel drowsy, spaced out and made me overeat.
