alphamale
So everybody, our good friend, and wise counselor TBF is doing something completely unplanned and completely wonderful ! indeed....
boldjack
TBF, You know how I feel about this , baby-doll, but are you really sure about this elopement thing? There's really no hurry, that whole big belly thing is some months away. Are you SURE about your feelings for each other? That it's not euphoria about the baby? I am sure that BOTH of you are thrilled and will make wonderful parents, but your feelings about one another, shouldn't be compromised by convention. Two loving committed single parents are far better than a divided home. Just sayin;)
Trialbyfire
Thanks boldjack but it's okay now. I've been a little jittery as of late, with getting married a second time, which had nothing to do with him or our relationship. Now those fears have completely disappeared and in retrospect, were so insignificant. We're a family. Thanks, alpha.
alphamale
Thanks, alpha. no problem

What do we call him TBF?Well, since I'm keeping my last name this time, we will be Mr. S. and Mrs. TBF. Plse call him/her Baby Shotgun.
boldjack
How about Scattergun?
Trialbyfire
Scattergun is an idea but prefer something reminiscent of sniper fire. Baby twenty-two?
JamesM
Congratulations, TBF!! Unexpected but certainly exciting. I wish you the best and do honestly believe that you will be a great mother. As you know, life will change, but you will like it.
Trialbyfire
Thanks James! From all you've posted on LS, you sound like a great parent, someone I wouldn't mind getting advice from, if that's okay.
boldjack
NAH, sounds like he/she is on a conveyor belt. "Ok , baby 22, first door to the left, baby 23, down the hall, turn right at the water cooler". Too impersonal. I think another good one is Ricochet.

boldjack
"short round"?
JamesM
Well, since I'm keeping my last name this time, we will be Mr. S. and Mrs. TBF. That would equal St BF. So as most parents the little one will be treated as a saint. Plse call him/her Baby Shotgun. Okay. But we need something more exciting. The end result of your trial by fire needs a name that indicates what kind of happiness he/she will bring. And if I can give any advice that will be helpful or at least get you thinking, I will try. I have been impressed with what you already know as a non-parent. However, you will find as I do every day, I learn how much I need to learn. Can we say teenagers?
Trialbyfire
Ricochet's too random and Misfire, like it was an accident. I feel there was intent and not from me. Baby Bazooka? Keep in mind that there was BC involved in this.
Art_Critic
"Misfire"? I just laughed out loud "click" TBF.. you will be a great Mom.. I can't wait to see the first pictures of him/her. I really can't give any advice on parenting as I'm in the thick of it myself but I can tell you to buy lots and lots more diapers than you think you need. The one thing I think I have learned in the last couple of months is to not panic when things go crazy..cuz they will go crazy.. Like when he takes a header into the coffee table and his forehead swells the size if a golfball in 2 mins it didn't do me or my wife any good more me to be freaking out like I did.. If I had just taken 2 mins to breath everyone would have been better off..

Trialbyfire
There are no saints here, James but that's funny how our names combined to that! Thanks A_C. You're already giving me sound advice about the early days. Hmmm...I don't mind Rocket at all. Baby Rocket or just Rocket?
GorillaTheater
I can tell you to buy lots and lots more diapers than you think you need. No kidding. When Baby Shower time rolls around and your asked what you want or need? The correct response, and one you will not regret, is "diapers".
boldjack
Well, "baby rocket", until he/she is old enough to be "rocket", I can see it all now.
