Replacements for whole wheat food?

Recommended Posts

I think I'm allergic to gluten. I used to eat alot of bread in the past, but since I've been on a diet, I'm been cutting on the unnecessary carbs and easing out on the whole wheat bread. I've taken up on eating Quakers oats for breakfast everyday, but I noticed it has been making me feel very bloated. I think I might have to cut on the oats as well. Does anybody have a suggestion for a morning meal? I would like to keep it at 200 cal since I normally go to the gym after eating breakfast, so I don't want to feel too full, yet still have the energy to work out.

Egg white omelet maybe? Salad?

gosh that must suck. Whole wheat is about the only carbs that's considered not bad for you, lol. Sugar=bad for you, white bread=bad for you, regular pasta=bad for you. How about rye bread?

Yeah I know whole wheat is good, but I noticed that since I've cut on the gluten and carbs, I've been less bloated and having less cravings for bread in general. I think all bread for me is the same because I usually end up having a weird feeling in my stomach afterwards.

I like egg white omelets and I normally don't want to eat cold food in the morning, so I usually reserve salads for lunch or dinner.

xpaper, be careful. Your body needs both carbs and fibre. High fibre foods can cause bloating but not to an unreasonable degree.

Thanks TBF. I'm watching my carbs carefully. I researched it a little and I'm making sure I do get some form of carbs every day but not to the extent that I'm high on insulin and glycogen. I was eating whole wheat oats everyday for breakfast last week and I noticed it did caused bloating so I'm thinking of cutting it back to every other day and maybe have egg whites or a protein drink for the others.

As long as you're getting the recommended daily dose of fibre, carbs and other healthy foods, it's all good. :)
