Update! ...And a silly question.

Recommended Posts

For those who've been supporting me through the angst-filled few months prior to this, I'd truly like to thank you, and also to show you that it hasn't all been in vain. :)

So, as an update - the bf made it through the gruelling year, and passed his finals. Chances are very good that he'll be able to come back to my home country for his 2 months of internship, and that he'll arrive in a weeks' time or so. :bunny::bunny::bunny:

We've had our ups and our downs, but the good news has really filled me with optimism for our future. :) He's SO much better now, too, it seems as if he's had a HUGE weight lifted from him. Along with several large thunderclouds.

I was wondering about one small issue, though. See, he'll be living with me, and I only have a single bed - can't change the furniture cause it's college accommodation. We can't afford another room for him. In the past, when he visited, we both always somehow managed to squeeze into it anyway. I'd wake once in awhile during the night if he happened to stir, but I was always on holiday then so it didn't matter.

This time, though, he's coming during the busiest time of my year (we don't have a choice in this, it's now or never), and I definitely need good sleep. We could drag in a mattress for him and squeeze it into my room somehow.. but I want to sleep with him! :( Not sure which alternative to follow... and I'm pretty darn sure he'd be kinda disappointed if he didn't get to sleep with me either.

Such a dilemma. I'm frankly uber happy to be even having it, though. :)

haha this is a fun dilemma! I'm jealous! ;) Is there enough room on the floor to put both mattresses down so there's enough space for the two of you to spread out comfortably after some quality cuddle sessions?

when you two feel like sleeping together all cramped than by all means sleep on one mattress. on those days you need to get a better nights rest then sleep apart. his mattress can be on the floor. either that or get rid of your bed and put a queen size mattress (without the box spring) on the floor :)

problema solved

Alpha, she can't move the bed out - it's a college rule. Bet there is no room for a queen size mattress in the floor, either, with a twin there on one wall.

Get a blow-up camping mattress. During the day, you can let the air out, or you can prop it up against a wall or up on your twin against the wall, so that you have some walking space. Our camping mattress is by Coleman, and it actually has a crease in the middle so that you can turn it into a couch-thing. Now, it may be cold being on the floor with that because the cold floor conducts through the air, but try some flannel sheets.

Yay thanks for the ideas guys! :) But sadly, no room on the floor for a queen-size mattress.

LuckyOne, the mattress isn't really the problem - we have spares aplenty, and they can be pushed against the wall too. :) It's just that there is equally little space on the mattress, so if we're gonna squeeze there together we might as well squeeze on the bed!

I guess I'll have to take alphamale's idea, of alternating the 'together' and 'separate' nights. :(

Bit of bad news. :( Tickets were all sold out at the travel agency that he went to; so in his haste, the bf grabbed the earliest available one there, which is next Friday! I wouldn't mind so much if this week and the next are the only weeks I have left of holidays - next term is REALLY busy, and I'll barely see him a few hours a day.

I'm trying to count our blessings, still.
