carhill
Is this a new guy or the one discussed in the thread below? http://www.loveshack.org/forums/showthread.php?t=209370 Topically, there are many types of connections, but, generally, most normal hetero men only think of romantic and sexual connections with a hetero woman who is not their mother, sister, daughter or other close familial female. Other connections exist, but are much more rare. Remember, I'm talking about 'normal' men here, meaning the majority of men you will meet each day. Aberrations exist

ADF
A guy friend told me he feels we have a connection. What does that mean? I've only ever known romantic partners to tell me that. It means your guy friend is working his way around to admitting he has a romantic interest in you. Here's something you may not know: few men--particularly younger men--go out of their way to befriend women unless they are attracted to them. I'll bet you have any number of male friends who have hots for you. That's not a big, though. Once they understand friendship is all they're going to get, most guys will leave it at that. This guy sounds like an exception.
A O
A guy friend told me he feels we have a connection. What does that mean? If he's genuine, then it means you have similar life experiences, similar values, a similar outlook on life (which can be further broken down into similar sense of humour/nature, similar goals - work/life balance) and on an on it goes. So, if any of this holds true then he could well be above board. Usually it takes a wee while to get to this level though. .

I found it interesting what you said about men not befriending women unless they find them attractive. Thinking about that... Thanks everyone!

Would you consider someone who has been friends with someone close to 5 years, but only recently has come to be *attracted* to them in a similar situation?

Yes I would. Our friends tend to get us, tend to know us better than anyone else. There's a connection there for sure, but it isn't usually of the romantic kind. .
