And my biggest pet peeve is when they try to impress you by speaking Cantonese or Mandarin. DON'T. BUTCHER. OUR. LANGUAGE. Haha, but that's just me. I'd say be yourself and respect her values as well as her family's as much as possible. Don't be afraid - embrace their traditions and culture. Make sure you know what you are getting into. Go up to her and start speaking Japanese. If that doesn't work, just ask "Oh...then what are you?" 2. Be sure to be VERY interested in her culture. The thing about Asian culture is that it kind of melds together. For instance, if you're dating a Vietnamese women, taking her to see movies like "Memoirs of a Geisha" still counts because the girl in that movie is also Asian. She will appreciate it because it's totally romantic. 3. If she has any outstanding features, then compliment them and then add "For an Asian girl." They really appreciate that. 4. The biggest turn on of all - keep reminding her how Asian she is! Sometimes Asian girls forget what ethnicity they are and so it's really sweet of a guy to make sure that she's super Asian every day. She's an international student and I must say that we get along great and rarely argue. No drama what-so-ever. Half of my school is made up for international Asian students studying abroad. I must say that the majority of them are very friendly and easy to socialize with...even if their English isn't that great. Especially the women. It does support the notion that foreign girls may be easier to deal with than a lot of western women that showcase a certain "independence". That doesn't mean that Asian women are going to be obedient and do whatever you want. That isn't what I'm suggesting at all...and I know there is stereotype of women from Asian heritage fitting that mold. Link to post Share on other sites

I can say that I hadn't really put much thought into it, in fact I probably glossed over them as something that just wouldn't ever happen, until now. The other day I noticed an extremely cute, thin, nerdy Japanese girl with a little bit of a behind on her. Had she not been at work I would have loved to talk to her. Hmm... Imagine if a supermodel black woman approached him, and she's the most stunning woman in the world. Would he turn her down for being black and not Asian?
