GeorgiaOnMyMind
When i was 6 months old i was given up for adoption. I know who my adoptive parents are and who my birth mom is (dad is nowhere to be found according to my adoptive parents). I also know that my birth and adoptive parents knew each other prior to my birth. However my adoptive parents never kept in contact with my birth mom after the adoption. i want to find my birth mom. i do not know how to go about it. my adoptive parents do not want me looking for her. i have a half brother and sister, so this makes me want to look even more for them. my brother is 17 or 18 now, and my sister is 12 or so. they are not much younger than me (i am 21). do i leave them alone, cause i could mess up the life they have for themselves now?? or should i look for them? how could i go about dealing with this, along with the things it brings up with it?? any and all advice or info you can give is awesome...please help me.... thanks..... Guest
You can look around the Internet for adoption, adoption locator, etc. and check with the library in your town. You might try the yellow pages too - look under adoption and private investigator services. Once your birth mother is located, you or the source you used to find her can send her a letter stating that you want to contact her and would that be okay? Then see what her response is. Good Luck
