lisasjustwondering
If a guys says "Thanks for being a friend" or "Thanks friend" or "You are my best friend" or "I appreciate you" does this mean he has no romantic interest? And is there a difference in if it is said in person, over the phone, in an email, in a text or via IM?
whichwayisup
I would take that as, he cares for you deeply, but may not be ready (or interested) in anything outside the realm of friendship. When you see him, is he affectionate? Touchy feely with you?
vanilla87
When a guy uses the word "friend" a lot when talking to a girl or referring to her as a "friend", chances are he only sees you as a friend. If a guy has ever used something like "I don't want to ruin the friendship", most likely he is either giving you a line or he truly has feelings for you and does not want to screw things up, mostly due to the fact that he probably thinks having you around in the long run is 10x's more of a better investment then having you as a girlfriend that he might break up with down the road.
