Anyone have a certain song or album that has helped them through a break up. For me the one song that helped was by Garth Brooks called THE DANCE. Some of those songs out there seem to fit well with your certain situation. Let me know what helped you through or what is helping you now.

well, sometimes I listen to "Can't Go Back" (Sissel) and sometimes I listen to "Want you Back" (Jackson 5).

Believe by Cher is one that helped me.

It describes how I feel.

My ex was a selfish jackass.

Any song by Everclear, they're sing-a-long depression songs.

Also, on the legendary Led Zeppelin front, "In my time of dying" is the sad breakup song, while "Dazed and Confused" is the get over it song. Then there's "Heartbreaker", but that's after you're already over it.

The best positive thing to do, a good kick to self-motivation ( especially if the break up wasnt pleasant ) should be ' i will survive ' This ones helped me a real lot !

Dido's thank you is a beautiful song too.... all about positve outlook

I associate that song with a deranged eminem fan named Stan, as do most people I know lol.

Oopps!! i am talking original song... not the scary mentally sick version one that eminem plugged it along with it ! Though, for all you all... there are quiet a few people who must be goin through the "Stan" stage in life today....

-------HELPP I wasnt giving suicidal advises really !! -------------!! :-)

Didos new song is White Flag about not giving up

**** It by Eamon (slow song and good for a breakup)

Shut Up by the Black Eyed Peas

Destiny's child survivor is good too

But the song by EAMON is great

Of course you weren't, I know, but since I heard stan before thank you, I just associate thank you with driving off a bridge with my pregnant girlfriend.

I don't know if this will help in your particular situation, but I listened to a lot of very loud Guns N' Roses, particularly while I was using a cross trainer at the gym.

One song in particular I'd recommend is "I Don't Care About You." The chorus goes:

I don't care about you

F*ck you

I don't care about you

Anyway, you may not want to take this exact approach, but like I said, it worked well for me.

anything by the smiths.

or chris issac.

Man, heard of ' i hate everything about you' by ugly kid joe ? this seems to work wonders for a few too..

the ones that have heavy bitterness aftr the relationship ends..

i recommend trance, deep enticing trance and nothing else in the mind

Teach Your Children & Our House, by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

A particular line from "Innocent" by Our Lady Peace:

"We are all innocent. I remember all the feelings and the day they stopped."

Agree with Dyermaker - Led Zep "In My Time of Dying"

To cry to: Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head"

Third Eye Blind's first album

Then when you're feeling better load up the Grateful Dead :)

The Eamon Song

See i dont, know why, i liked you so much

I gave you all, of my trust

I told you, i loved you, now thats all down the drain

Ya put me through pain, i wanna let u know that i feel

Ya questioned, did i care

You could ask anyone, i even said

Ya were my great one

Now its, over, but i truly mean im sad

It hurt real bad, i cant sweat that, cuz i loved a hoe

**** what i said it dont mean **** now

**** the presents might as well throw em out

**** all those kisses it didnt mean jack

**** you, you hoe, i dont want you back

pardon all the bad language it is actually a slow mix

'Breakdown'

"...so, what do you do,

with someone you're devoted to,

and it seems they haven't got a clue,

of all the pain and rejection they are

putting you through?

Do you cling onto your pride and sing 'I will survive'?

Do you lash out and say, 'How dare you leave me this way'?

Do you cling on in vain, as they slowly slip away?..."

Yes! I love songs that I'm capable of singing lol

As long as we're on Zep -

Lyin', cheatin', hurtin', that's all you seem to do

Messin' around every guy in town

Puttin' me down for thinkin' of someone new

Always the same, playin' your game

Drive me insane, trouble is gonna come to you

One of these days and it won't be long

You'll look for me but baby, I'll be gone

This is all I gotta say to you woman

Your time is gonna come

( I just substitute gender haha ;) )

I was listening to that on the way home, reminded me of this thread.

Well Dyermaker,

You have excellent musical taste, my friend :p

Then again, it's a long ride home, and I have the entire remasters, usually on my person. I leave CODA @ home though :p

Posted

LOL poor CODA always gets left behind. That was the first record I ever bought~

Yes, I said RECORD!!!!

Posted

Aww, c'mon, what song on CODA do you enjoy? I've given it a chance, but I just don't like it. The remastered version has "Hey Hey What Can I Do" (Street Corner Girl) which I love, but that wouldn't have been on your "record".
