I met my wife on www.match.com. She's from Japan and the sweetest, most loving, sincere person I have ever met. I live in Florida and she came to visit me and eventually moved to be with me. I have never been to Japan.

 

However, I have heard dozens of horror stories about the personals. Generally, some:

 

Beautiful women who place their photo along with their pictures get swamped with pornographic replies as well as some decent ones.

 

Average women get a handful of replies, some perverted, some not.

 

Not so attractive women get replies and many actually meet pretty sincere guys.

 

Same goes for men.

 

But many people lie through their butts in their personals and in their replies.

 

Personal meetings rarely result but I do know for a fact that there have been many wonderful romances, and marriages, that have come from online personals.

 

So if you work the sites really well, are good at asking questions, and are extremely lucky, you might just hit the jackpot.

 

I guess it's sort of like real life. Hope springs eternal.

Well, one Friday night after more than 4 glasses of wine I posted an ad on love@aol just for laughs. Guess what? I got 15 responses by the next day!! I cancelled the ad the next day but ended up getting about 10 more during that week. I ended up telling them I really wasn't interested but I did meet with 2 guys who seemed really nice and they were nice, but now I can't get rid of them. They keep emailing, im ing and calling me. But I'm not really interested (not because of them personally) but I just am enjoying some alone-time right now.

 

But good luck, it can't hurt to try!

Yes i have. I live in a small town, and most women around here are either underage, with children, or smoke and drink. There is a college here, but it's tuition is very high, and most of the girls i have met are from out of state and very stuck up and spoiled.

 

I date a lot online, i just met a girl only 45 min away that i have a lot in common with, and we are going to meet next weekend. My last 4 dates were girls i met online, no relationships. My ex gf, i met online. I think most are looking for decent people just like you are. And if you keep looking, you will find someone.

 

Be totally honest, you can usually tell when someone is lying, or just wanting sex. Email and chat a while, then when you feel comfortable. Maybe you will find someone nice like me who is truly looking for something they cant find right at hand!
