CrestfallenNoMore
Well, it's been so long since I was on this site that I can't even remember the e-mail address I used for certain or my password. That's ok, though, because that old user name doesn't work for me anymore. If anyone still remembers me, I thought I'd post a quick update before getting back into the thick of it again. It's been two years since my divorce. My ex-husband appears to still be the woman he left me for. I found out several months ago that they bought a house together, immediately after we separated, and that basically ended any desire I ever had about thinking we would ever have some sort of friendship down the line. I no longer care about him, and while I still think about him a lot, the anger rarely crops up anymore and, when it does, I'm able to dismiss it and think about something else (something I never thought I'd be able to do). I really missed his friendship, probably more than anything else, but now I no longer want him in my life at all, and believe me, that's progress for me. The best news, though, is that I've purchased a house, by myself. I always wanted to buy a house, and I did so, taking advantage of all the blessings I really do have in life. It's a beautifully remodeled Victorian and I love it. I closed back in September and I couldn't be happier. I still have my job, still have some great friends and am now ready to finally date without all the baggage I had before. I really can't complain, and I'm so thankful that I've had so much support and took time to deal with my pain in a healthy way. I'm far from perfect and I still have a scar, but life is good again and I'm hopeful about my future.
Ronni_W
Hey Crest, good to read you! I'm so glad for you that things have turned out so well :bunny: Sounds like you're focusing on the truly important stuff, and not giving in to mood-spoiling crap (like anger-inducing thoughts/memories.) Congrats also on your home purchase -- enjoy it in happiness and good health. Have a terrific Holiday Season/New Year...and LOTS of fun on the dating scene
