I've tried to be intentional about spending more time with her and I've made effort to start conversation with her and get to know her better without seeming overly eager. Here's the problem...she is a very shy girl, so any interest she will show I imagine will be through nonverbal cues. In talking with her I've picked up on some things...she tends to play with her hair, fidget with things in her hands (i.e. cup, ear lobe), seems a little extra nervous around me (which, honestly, I don't know whether that's good or bad) and she does smile when in conversation with me. On a few occasions I even caught her looking at me...but she quickly looked away, I'm guessing, because of her shyness. And in the rare occasions her and I have talked alone, I've felt this nervous/excited energy that I haven't felt in a looong time. These are what I would consider positive signs. There are things, however, that I've interpreted as negative. For example, sometimes she'll go to the other side of the room that we're in (which, if she like me, I would imagine she would rather be closer to me), I always feel as if I'm always intitiating the conversations between her and I, and the conversation usually loses it's momentum if I don't have something to say to keep it going. Also, she's a senior in a college here in Western NY and I'm a graduate of the same college who happened stayed in the area. It's her last year here and then it's really up in the air...her home is actually in Virgina. I've been working here for the past year and a half now and I don't really have any plans of leaving. Given the above statements, do any of you think this girl is worth pursuing? If so, what would be the next step? Or is this something I shouldn't waste my time on. I'm writing this late and it probably doesn't make much sense, but any input would be great!! Link to post Share on other sites
