Background: When I was around 16, I was on year-round swim team and there was an assistant coach who was 4 years older than me that I had a huge crush on. He used to listen to my rants about the team and make up goofy songs to get me through practices and I just adored him. Then I quit swim team and never really thought about him again until I found him on Facebook recently. I'm 21 now and he's 25.

We started Facebook chatting about a month ago, and it's become increasingly intense. I really didn't intend for this to happen because he's a marine currently stationed in Japan and it seems completely pointless, but somehow we both got sucked in. We enjoy talking to each other so much that it's gotten to the point where we had to finally agree to go a whole day without doing it (which is today). Yesterday we chatted for about six hours, it was around five hours the day before, and so on. Not all at once due to the time difference, but broken up throughout our days. I've never had someone I could talk to this much and I'm thinking about him constantly. He's coming back to the States in July, but that's a long time from now. I'm graduating college in the spring, and he keeps making half-joking references to some sort of future together.

And we have to laugh about it because it's so weird. He said last night,"This is so bizarre. Two people that like talking to each other so much that they recognize it to be unhealthy and they make a goal to go one whole day without talking in an attempt to normalize their situation."

Has this happened to anyone else? What came of it? Is this an unhealthy habit we've developed? What should we do? Maybe it will just stabilize itself over time?
