Meaplus3
Ok. Well now I was found to have a cyst like bump in the back of my throat.. this is just great. I can never seem to get a freakin' break here. I now have to see an ENT. My last primary blew it off.. and when I was at the clinic.. to get some antiotics for my ear.. the person who checked me said. "How long has that thing in your throat been there"? I was like a month or two.. and told them my last primary said it was nothing. This person said NO.. you need to have that looked at. Good god.. more to worry about. Just pray for me peeps!! Anyone else have one of these things? Mea:)
Lizzie60
Oh gosh... please don't worry about it... it's probably nothing.. Have it checked... but try not to stress about it.. I know it's easier said than done... I'll say a little prayer for you... sending my bestest vibes..
alphamale
i would probably go with the primary dr. who said it was nothing. the ENT just wants to make money running tests and whatnot. in the end the ENT will be like "oh yea i guess it was nothing..." but if the ENT is good looking and single maybe you'll get a date out of it. i'm sure he'll take you to a nice place for dinner. JamesM
Getting it checked out will either find a problem or put your mind at ease. And my guess is that they will find nothing, but since there is a possibility, then doing something now is better than doing nothing. I will be thinking of you...even more than usual. Angel1111
It's possible that it has something to do with your thyroid. I think your other dr. was right that it's not serious but I guess it doesn't hurt to have it checked out. I'm sorry - I know things just keep coming up for you. I hope everything smoothes out soon. Hugs.

Just going to have it checked and take it from there. Not going to freak out. Mea:)

I have no idea why. Sometimes mine swells and it's really uncomfortable. I have lots of symptoms of someone with thyroid issues but tests never show anything. My general practitioner is the one who noticed that something was wrong with it. Just don't rule it out in your case - it could still be an issue.
Author Meaplus3
Well, I go in the am to find out what this could be. I must say I'm a touch nervous. I really don't like the idea of anyone messing with my throat.. I have a super gag reflex. Wish me luck. Mea:)

whichwayisup
I feel for you Mea.. I'm sure it's nothing, maybe it's just stress, allergies and dust that has bothered your throat. It's good you're getting it checked! Let us know asap once you get results.

Gave me a remedy to help with my HDL.. he's not to worried. Then it was off to the throat doc. And It looks like it's just a simple mucoid (sp) cyst. but, because of my past history of sucking down cancer sticks.. he did need to do a biopsy.. now that was NOT fun. Sprayed my throat.. and it felt numb and tight.. freaked me right out. Then snipped the thing and will send it off to the lab. He told me he is 99.9 % certain this is nothing.. and not to lose any sleep over it. So.. that's that. I will know the results by Monday. Mea:)

JamesM
Thanks for the update. And yes, you ARE a strong woman. Doctors don't get in the habit of saying "it is nothing" unless they really believe it to be the case. So my guess is he is just double checking for your safety and his (legal) safety. Now....let's hope your health stays....healthy.
whichwayisup
All is going to be fine. It's true, it's rare a Dr will say "it's nothing"..Trust his judgement and I'm sure the biop will come back normal.

marlena
Honey, it's probably nothing but, of course, have it checked out. Your chords might be slightly swollen. Nothing a little cortisone can't cure. I have a condition that people like actors/teachers get all the time because of the abuse their voices undergo. Makes my voice real sexy!!! Tomorrow you will be posting that it is nothing serious. You'll see. Stop worrying beforehand.
