starwarsnerd1
I posted a message a few weeks ago describing my break up with my ex girlfriend. More or less she left me for another guy who was more into poetry and reading than I was (5 days after they met!!!) I have been seeing an awesome girl for the past month and now I find out my ex and her new boyfriend are engaged after being together for 4 months. I was in total shock when I heard the initial news of that. I have been falling in love with my new girlfriend, but upon hearing the news of the engagement, my feelings for my ex have resurfaced. I have had no contact with her for the past 2 months. Is this normal to feel this way? I was together with my ex for 3 years with no problems. I want to stay with my current girlfriend, but lately have been waking up crying while thinking about the ex. Any advice would be helpful.
mjk
I would think that your reaction is normal...at least to me. I think I would feel the same way that you do. It's kind of a loss in a strange way. No contact is good for over 2 months. I would just re-focus on my new girl knowing your reaction is normal, but...I wouldn't mention it to your new girl because it might start to undermine, or upset her that you are thinking that much about an ex. You know you were with her for 3 years, that's along time. Maybe your subconcious just wants to wish her well?
