harmfulsweetz
A real woman wouldn't play dumb games, do something she didn't want to do and go whine about it. And yeah, he must be so dumb thinking she wanted to pay when she went for her wallet Damn him for not being able to read her mind! He should go to hell for this! Or if you just want to know the deal, have a conversation about it before going. This is why I hate all those "rules". Heaven forbid people just be straight forward and honest these days. Lol. He must pay for that mistake! People need to stop playing games, expecting others to be mind readers and just be upfront with it. It's the same with anything to do with dating, so many people get hurt, confused, annoyed simply because they haven't bothered to open their mouths and voice what it is they want out of this. Art_Critic
Of course, I would expect him to go down on me later that night. I have only 'dated' total strangers a few times, usually I was starting off already knowing the person somewhat, at least socially, and they were either someone I'd felt some genuine interest in a while or who I knew had set their focus on me specifically and were trying to woo me, which I think is a somewhat different scenario than some people are talking about in this thread. Sometimes safe dating is better.. But you have to have a lot of friends
Stung
Sometimes safe dating is better.. But you have to have a lot of friends True. I dated a lot of friends-of-friends over the years, I also met a lot of people through continued education, or sometimes through work or over the internet. But even the few times I gave my contact info to someone I'd just met, I usually held them to a few letters or phone convos back and forth before any actual dating took place. Just a personal preference I guess...I like to know there's some genuine interest and compatability up front, I'm never flattered being part of somebody's numbers game. Clep
He must have been pretty thick to not realise she stopped bringing her purse out and then he stopped bringing his wallet out ... He knew what he was doing and he lost out because of it - He played a slow draw and ended up getting the cheapest part of the night, not cool. A REAL man would have insisted He didn't lose out on anything. It amazes me that you think he should be grateful and buy dinner with a woman who is a complete game player. You and she both seem to be very skilled at justification. A REAL woman would be straight up, not looking for a free meal, and be independent.
meerkat stew
God bless this thread. Am going to treat my next date to something more expensive than usual because of the good attitudes expressed here and how heavily they outweigh the bad. She can even go sleep with some FWB or ex afterwards and I won't mind
brock25
Who said guys should pay ALL the time?! It's a FIRST date! First dates are always about making good impressions on both sides. How is he making a good one if he's being cheap and taking his time reaching for the dough?! This guy is supposed to be woo'ing her and courting her so that she would be interested in seeing him again but instead, he came off as cheap and it turned her off. I think on the first few dates, a guy should be a gentleman and pay. And if they continue to keep seeing each other, then perhaps she could offer and pay sometimes or even suggest to cook him a nice meal (at least that is what I would do). The problem with this viewpoint is many ( maybe even most ) first and second dates. Especially from dating sites don't lead to serious relationships. A man could have many first dates before he finally finds a woman where there is a strong connection between them. Even if each individual date was relatively cheap such as a few drinks, it still can gradually add up in cost. I don't think a woman should expect a man ( especially a man that is virtually stranger ) to pay for her.

Each of those girls spent their hard earned money getting all decked out for you, clothes, hair and all and that would be altering a new date because of a previous date. Why make a new girl and her date with you suffer because of the girl who was there before her ? If your theory is that a man should be cheap because he has to go on lot of first dates then I guess a woman who has to go on a lot of first dates should not get all dressed up and have her hair and nails done ? or then she should try and take the guy for free food since he is just being cheap becuase he has lots of dates to go on.. Art_Critic
Oh come on.. A woman can spend 50-80 bucks getting ready for a date.. and even more if she has to hire a baby sitter... A guy doesn't spend squat to get ready for a date...

Woggle
I will never wear spraytan no matter how attractive a woman thinks it is. I will not look like that guy from the movie Soul Man. What it all comes down to is the fact that women want selective equality. They want to shout from the rooftops how independent they are but only when it benefits them. Everything has pros and cons and women have to take the cons that along with independence as well as the pros.

Naw man, I got a home applicator, tanning booth grade. I even do my junk. Buttcracks are a pain sometimes, but I don't let em get back there anyway to see the buttcrack tan line. If she can't afford it, then no she shouldn't. Why should I subsidize her hot over-priced fashion look? It cost me to look well too. I buy good clothes, expensive shoes, crap to put in my hair. I could care less about nails, makeup, $200 perm. In fact the hottest girl I ever dated exclusively looked better without any make up, without her hair done (right out of bed), nor being dressed up. And I told her she didn't need to spend any money on that stuff. If she feels that's the only way she can land a good man, that's not my problem. I can see through that really quick when a woman over-dresses for the 1st date. That's absurd that I need to help subsidize her expensive taste with drinks or a meal on a 1st date.

This is not a valid argument. 1. A woman would probably spend money on clothes, nails and hairstyle anyways. Whether it was on a date or a night out with friends. 2. A man could also spend a lot of money on haircut, clothes, cologne etc. 3. A woman who expects a man to pay is more cheap than a man who prefers to go Dutch. At least he is trying half the bill. She is paying nothing.
meerkat stew
It cost me to look well too. I buy good clothes, expensive shoes, crap to put in my hair. Do you have a spraytan booth too? Mine costs $100/month just for power. That damn spraytan juice costs $50 a gallon (sometimes I just use peanut oil). By the time I get gas in the Lincoln, I'm out $140 just to walk out the door. That doesn't even include all the pheromone spray.
OnlyJake
That doesn't even include all the pheromone spray. You can get free samples of that at sex toy parties. Just FYI. I'm sure you could crash a few in your area...Or maybe ask out the salesgirl?

Why not take some of the good dating advice on here and learn how to treat a woman to get a good woman instead of just being bitter and alone ?
Woggle
I never used spray tan in my life and I only use shampoo to wash hair with no extra products and I do better with women than you guys. Most women deep down are not attracted to metrosexuals. Unless I have somewhere special to go I wear jeans and a t shirt and on my days off sometimes I don't even shave. Your counter is what was lacking because it contained too many what if's.. there are no what if's about how much money a woman spends getting ready. A woman also can spend that money on each date depending on how long it has been between hair doos or nails. A guy will have the same suit for 10 years..hahahaha

meerkat stew
"metrosexual" that's a setting on my spraytan machine! None of my women have to spend money on hair or nails, I do their hair with a "flowbie" (one of those vacuum cleaner hair cutter things), and make them all wear Lee Press on Nails anyhow, so I don't care what's underneath. That saves boucoup $$ every month. Some of them run when they hear the vacuum cleaner crank up but I keep them wearing Uggs 3 sizes too small so they never get far before I catch them.
