Hersheys
Intentional She wants to get a reaction from you.
HLP234
I think she might have done it on purpose too. One time, ok I could understand but the 2nd time, and 5 minutes apart? You never know but I know it hurts to notice what she is up to when you have been trying to forget her. I would not call her back or anything..no point..What are you gonna say, oh you called twice and left a voicemail, and she will say no I didn't.
Author nomad0792
Well, I know it's very possible she did it on accident. People with BB's have a tendency to do this sorta' thing. INTENTIONAL - 6 ACCIDENTAL - 2 DGAS - 1 (Thanks to Tara) ON THE FENCE - 1 (blackbear sounds 50/50)
Author nomad0792
Most definitely accidental. I owned three blackberries in my time and I have done this with tight jeans on. Once you call someone and they don't answer, it goes to their voicemail and when the voicemail times out, the call ends. Then, on many blackberries, all you have to do is hold or press the send button and it will immediately call the last number dialed. I know this because I was once in Vegas and called my mom 5 times in a row. Fortunately the night was still young. But Denver, why did the 1st call go about 15 secs and then the 2nd call went over 4 minutes? For those that vote, it would be interesting to know what type of phone you have. I'm wondering if those that have voted it was INTENTIONAL ever owned a BB?
Trialbyfire
For those that vote, it would be interesting to know what type of phone you have. I'm wondering if those that have voted it was INTENTIONAL ever owned a BB?Yes, I have but any phone ever owned, was never shoved into a pocket, always in hand, in my purse or resting on a cradle in my car, which is why I asked the questions in the first place. Author nomad0792
Here's another question...if it was in her pocket...which would be tough to do cuz she wears tight jeans, would I be able to hear so clearly? I suppose it could have been in a coat pocket, but her purse was the standard? I mean, it sounded like she was in a car, because the sounds were consistent with movement, but could hear the dude almost better than I could hear her.
ditched
im having a similar mystery with my ex. Broken up for seven months. NC for six. She pocket-dialed me New years day. then four more times over that weekend. I texted her asking her to do something about it. she emailed me an apology saying it was her phone. then she called me two weeks later (two days ago) for real. we talked and it ruled. but nothing about getting back together. well, i tried to avoid it. this morning i got another pocket-dial. I'm trying not to look too hard into it. but the timing and the frequency is making me wonder.
Author nomad0792
Wow ditched...do you think she was doing it on purpose? Seems a little fishy to me. Does she have a BB? Ha! What was your RS? How long was your RS? Did she break up with you? Do you think she's having second thoughts? Seems ironic that she 'butt-dialed' you on New Years. Do you have a vote here? I'd like to keep a tally.
broncosfrk83
Dang that does seem weird. My ex "pocket" called me the day after we broke up. Its funny because in the 3 years we were together it had never happend to her before....Hmmmmm.
Author nomad0792
well, if mine did it on purpose, she accomplished her goal...getting me to think about her. Dammit!!! I only have myself to blame.
allicangive
I definitely think it was intentional. First of all, unless your name starts with 'A' and your first on her contacts list, or she was in your recently dialed calls, it's pretty impossible to butt-dial someone. I have a BB, and if it ever butt-dials, it only calls the last person I texted, called, or the first person on my contacts list. Also, the fact that she called twice, five minutes apart seems a little fishy. Either way it shouldn't really make a difference if you don't plan on breaking the NC. If it was truly a butt-dial, then that's that.. and if it wasn't, then she knows you received the call and still didn't do anything about it, which would definitely make her mad and realize you have no intention of calling her back. If she really wants to contact you, she'll do it in a straight-forward way hope this helps
bananaboat11
Oh wow Nomad. I'm sorry man. First I want to say... emotional woman.. you can do better. My ex was the jealous type... hot little thing... also.. first month no contact, I got the restricted number thing from her too, but I didn't pick up (her roommate, my friend (kind of friend actually) confirmed). I'm going to say block her number... you're still in her phone. If you want to get back together with her... ehhhhhhhh.. otherwise, get rid of any contact man. Beautiful, gorgeous, drop dead looking women that get jealous that easily have some sort of baggage that eventually pops out. I'm glad mine popped out after 4.5 months. kills me to know she's back w/ her ex. that's why I downloaded an app for my google droid eris phone that hangs up on her number the second she dials me (if she ever does... but doubt she will). like ****in' hell I want to talk to my jealous, psycho, crazy, manipulative, abusive ex again. she was MEAN. With a capital M! my heart goes out to you bro.
dreamer0123
Accidental!! The phone prolly was in her purse- dialed out the first time- hung up and then re-dialed the last number it called.
WiseOne1
Defintely on purpose.....Intentional My ex called me and let the phone rang about 5 times, and I finally called her back 3 days later, and she says her phone dialed me... I was like ok...We haven't talked in 2 months str8, and you still have my number in your phone?? She was like yea, I was like the last couple of times we stopped talking you deleted it that same day. Another thing, if your ex's phone REALLY did "butt dial" your number, that must means that she has not deleted you out of her address book, which I don't know if thats a good thing or bad thing but it sounds ok.... It all comes down to the number still being in her address book, because theres a 0% chance of her phone "but dialing" all 7 digits of your phone number, come on, think about it. She did it on purpose. Edited January 22, 2010 by WiseOne1

I believe she did, but I don't plan on asking her, but I'd still like to know I'm not crazy for thinking so. I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel a little better that she did...but, not the right mind-set I suppose. And I agree, if she wants to reach out, then she needs to do it in a more direct way. I won't play these little games with her. Let's say you butt-dialed someone, will your BB tell you? I took her out of my phone and I don't visit her FB, etc. So, I'm fine with that. I have to say I'm shocked that we broke up. I didn't honestly expect this at all. So, I'm assuming you are voting INTENTIONAL?
Tayla
My opinion- no one really knows nor can speculate in factuality. The one poster who did mention that it redials the last number or first from a phone contact list seems more realistic of a plausible alternative . My only true fact is this chick still has your number at all. That is the first thing I block when I am done and over with someone. That needs addressed.
Art_Critic
My only true fact is this chick still has your number at all. Good point I'm a deleter or a re-namer to something with a z in the beginning. I do have a neighbor in the mountains on my cell phone that I can't stand and his name begins with and A and was always on the top of my list and I would see his name anytime I would hit my phone list so I renamed it to "Z Don't Answer"
Author nomad0792
THE ONLY THING IS...if she still has me on speed dial, then it could be more probable, right? I mean, all she'd have to do is hit the letter of my name and I know she did have me on speed dial when we were together, but she never (IN A YEAR) managed to butt-dial me and I was always in her cue. So guess I will see if I can get a hundred combined votes. It's kinda taking a life of it's own. Kinda' demented and hilarious at the same time. Let me feed my little monster here, guys. BUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! INTENTIONAL - 9 ACCIDENTAL - 3 DGAS (DON'T GIVE A SHIAT) - 1 (Thanks to Tara) ON THE FENCE - 1 (blackbear sounds 50/50) IT HAPPENED TO YOU BUT YOU DIDN'T VOTE -

I don't know if it's that weird...I still have my exes in my phone, but I DEFINITELY took them OFF my speed dial. This current ex...I took her out completely. Well, for ****s and giggles can I get a vote? I'm really interested in getting the woman's perspective and whether they've done this. (INTENTIONAL, ACCIDENT) Thanks for chiming in guys!!! Author nomad0792
Upgrayedd said: "There are no accidents in life. Vote intentional." Ha...very scientific. Love it Upgrayedd. Banana...well, that's the part that sux. I have mixed feelings about it, because if she did in fact do it on purpose then I feel a little good knowing she's thinking of me. A guilty pleasure I suppose. I was actually thinking about it some more...surprise. Maybe she called me the first time and when it went to vm, she allowed it to sit for a moment so it appeared to be an accident. Cuz if she were to just hang up then it would've been an obvious intentional call. Okay, I'm done. Ha. So the tally: 12 INTENTIONAL to 3 ACCIDENTAL, with others who don't give a crap I know none of this really matters, but it has managed to entertain me for a bit. Plus, I've been really enjoying helping others on here while the votes mount.
Author nomad0792
Just a couple more opinions from two other members regarding ditched's thread about the infamous butt-dial: sedgwick said: I have had several different types of cell phones, and have never "butt-dialed" anyone. I don't know many women who keep their phones in their back pockets, nor do I know any woman who has ever claimed to call someone with her ass. The only time I've ever accidentally called anyone was with my iPhone, and it only happened once that I can remember. I was scrolling through the numbers trying to call someone, and I accidentally hit the name below theirs. That's one occasion I can think of in the 10 or so years I've had a cell phone. mscomplex said: "Pocket dialed?!"Yeah right. That's just a means of contacting you without contacting you. That's her initiating things without you thinking that is what happened. Unless your name begins with A , is first in her phone and it has always happened I would not believe that. I have to admit that in the past I have done the same thing and that was my motive. I would also send an e-mail to a group and "accidentally" include the ex so that he would see it and hopefully call. I know it is childish but that's the sort of thing I did. Especially once I started to think of the person and wanted to contact them without them thinking I "wanted" to contact them. (his name began with the letter A and that did happen to him all of the time though so after we broke up-him cheating-I just went with it) I have grown a lot since then and although I am currently happily married I eventually learned to just be straight and say I miss you. Visiting this site during that breakup and reading, giving and getting advice really helped me through a difficult time. I hope that it does the same for you.
Stung
I have never had a BB, but my iPhone dials people occasionally when I keep it in my hip pocket, and it seems to be pretty random who gets the ring. My old Razr somehow used to get flipped and purse-dialed all the time when I kept it in my bag. Presumably you'd know if this were a potential factor, but earlier today my 13-month-old fished my phone right out of my bag and managed to call my husband and my realtor AND send a nonsensical text to a former roommate of mine. Weird sh*t happens. On the other hand, I guess this is the 21st century version of the post-breakup hangup calls I occasionally indulged in back in high school? You seem to think she's kind of immature. Can I vote 'On-the-fence-but-think-you-should-say-f***-it-and-just-go-have-a-beer'?
