I'm actually looking forward to V-Day so I can log into LS and read new threads like this:

"My ex just sent me a box of chocolate. What does this mean? There is cyanide dripping out of one of them?"

"I hate V-Day. I'm so upset thinking about her with her new man. Should I text her happy V-day?"

"The gun is loaded with one in the chamber. I just gave it a spin. Who wants to play Russian Roulette with me?"

"I'm sitting alone on my couch drinking a bottle of wine and I hate my life. F V-day!"

"OMG My ex just sent me a text telling me to drop dead but it is V-Day. She's still thinking of me!"

Where's here? And are you sure? I bite! :p

Here is DC. And I have The Notebook on Blu-ray. I think...

And yes, just so long as you leave the sadness up there...

I'm stuck up in Amherst, Massachusetts... college town full of immature undergrads. Not saying I'm any better b/c I'm a graduate student... but since entering into grad school... I've had to set my priorities straight. No more partying like it's 1999. :(

I'm in Maryland, about 45 minutes from Hokie.

I lovvvve Mass!! I had so much fun when I lived there!! I love the fact that it's extremely diverse! I've never been anywhere like that before!

And as far as partying goes... 1999 is out anyway, it's 2010 now! It's much better! :D

:lmao: Soooooo true!!! I can guarantee that every single one of the lines you just wrote will be new thread titles on Valentines Day.

Hahahaha, you're an ass.

I'll actually be in Bethesda, MD this summer... I am going to a national conference to present my data on physical activity and blood sugar levels in a prediabetic population at fasted and 2 hour post prandial (meal consumption) from an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT).... it's actually really interesting (to me, at least)

heh

After hearing nothing from my ex on my birthday back in November, that's when I knew I'd never hear from her again, regardless of the day it was.

:( that kinda hurts

Rob... that made absolutely no sense to me at all.

There are some really great bars in Bethesda. I haven't gone out there in awhile though. You'll have a lot of fun! It's a nice area.

I stopped reading at "to present my data"...I really hope you watch the show Big Bang Theory...

But seriously though, that's pretty cool. I'll definitely be around then. I'll be waiting with bated breath.

But it's a good kick back into reality. Everyone needs that at some point. She isn't worth his time.

Yea. It was four months after the breakup, about 2 months or so of NC, so at that time I was hoping she'd have remembered. But it wasn't to be. No big deal. Now that I think of it, I don't know if she ever knew when my birthday was...

You guys crack me up. I don't post regularly, but I'm on loveshack every day reading these threads. If it weren't for the advice I've been given here I would've put my brains to the wall months ago.

Anyway, bananaboat, to answer your question about vday, I'm hoping to have a date by then.

It's gonna be rough though, because last vday was when I proposed to my ex. We went to the city, stayed in a nice hotel, she wore her little black dress and when I gave her the ring she said yes and it was the greatest thing I've ever seen, she being a little meek still and girlish and beautiful beyond belief.

Me, personally, I'm just not going to think about it. It's just another day. Fact is, I'll save some money not having to buy flowers for some girl who will leave me eventually anyway.

Hey bananaboat!

It won't happen...ever. But if he did, he'd have to leave a message because I would never let him jerk me around on a day of love.

He didn't love me on a cold night in October when he left so he shouldn't bother having "love" for me just because it would be Valentine's Day.

Hmmm...now that I think about it, last year's V-Day was the first V-Day in my life that I spent it with a girl...my ex...it was a really fun night...

...now I miss her...le sigh...:(...

I'd react the same way I would if he called me any other day -- I wouldn't answer. If he left me a message that said, "I love you, I messed up, and I want you back," I'd return the call. If he said anything else, I wouldn't.

If my ex contacted me on Valentine's Day, I think I'd say, "Why are you wishing me a happy Valentine's Day?" And, then, no matter what his answer, I wouldn't reply back.

Noooo! Don't think of it like that! Think of it like it was the last Valentines Day that you had to spend with someone that took you for granted.

I dont think he will contact me since I didnt contact him on new years, christmas and his birthday. If he did, I will say 'NOW what do you want???' Maybe I should send him a hate mail that day :p

I'm gaining my confidence back... I hate to sound cocky (I don't mean to...) but I know I have a lot going for me. Something this recent ex did to me... literally STRIPPED me of all my confidence. There were weeks I thought I was the ugliest thing in the world...

:o

Hokie, I suck w/ names... please refresh my memory :(

And one of these days YOU need to come out with me. I'll be your wingman =)

My best friend and pretty much all my other friends tell me this exact thing every time I get a little intox'ed and start blubbering about my ex...it's not cockiness...it's confidence...

It's that feeling that you know you're the sh*t whenever you walk into any room. You don't need to announce it. You just be awesome and people will pick up on it.

"Kelvin, like the temperature scale." Yes, I actually use that line in public...and I figured you'd get it. Teeheehee!

You're d*mn right, I do. I ended up staying in tonight and watching Punisher: War Zone. An absolutely ridiculous movie. I loved it.
